Idea: New crimes.

Edit: The bottom aren’t crimes they just are my idea overflows. If only there was a way to edit Reddit thread titles lol.
Attend a street racing event. There’s a 60% caught rate. As you can either choose to run away or surrender to the police likewise and like so.
Shoplift. There will be a 50% caught rate. You can sell certain things like a flatscreen TV or something like that for money for example but the more valuable the item is the more money you’ll get if you sell it in the black market.
Go naked. With a 80% caught rate with either you will get a ticket to actually being caught and sent to jail for about a month and you won’t need to age for this it will just be considered a life event but you will still get a criminal record anyway for it if you do this.
Disturb The Peace. You can start yelling in a grocery store. Yell at a church. Yell in public. Or start running through the store or playing the floor is lava in the library for example. You’ll get 3 months in jail due to disturbing the peace and there will be a 80% caught rate.
Copyright Infringement: You will just be sued for this. No criminal charges. It’s if you sample something in a song you made if you’re a musician without permission, if you use someone else’s image and make it your logo, you can be sued for less than if you used a sample without their permission.
Street race. There will be a 70% caught rate. You can do wager races, pink slip races, and even police chases in the mini game where you can smash cop cars (if you get caught it will be attempted murder if you do this), there will be a little mini game too so that it will be more interactive. You can start doing it at 16 when you can have a license.
Rob a bank. There will be a 50% caught rate but there will be a little mini game where you have to hack through the bank. You can also hire people to aid in your robbing as well using the dark web.
Wire Fraud. There will be a 40% caught rate. There will be a little mini game where you have to hack through the bank.
Hack. It will have a 50% caught rate.
Have Sex Underage. With a 60% caught you which will be sent to Juvie for 3 years for underage sex and become a sex offender. You and your partner will face the same level of crimes. Only your partner can decide on wether not you’ll have sex but you can ask them if they want to in which they’ll have the final decision. Either your parents will find you and beat you up, ground you, or call the police. This will increase your happiness but it’s extremely risky like other crimes. It will even warm you before doing this that you are about to do an extremely risky thing.
Gamble More Than $10,000. With a 40% caught rate at first and the more you do it will become 70% as the bank you put your money in will smell at rat and one and you’ll be investigated and potentially arrested for doing this for 5 years for illegal gambling.
Open an Illegal Casino. With a 60% caught rate. You may or may not get caught but you will make a lot of money and you will have to buy a couple things like a radar distributor and a police scanner and an instant hider as well as a map wiper.
Deal drugs you can choose what drugs to sell and it will have the same caught rate as stealing a car. You can choose what drugs you wanna deal.
Join a Gang: If you join a gang, you’ll be at a huge risk of being hurt or dying form your wounds cause you’ll be held at gunpoint a lot and if you attack other gang members you’ll be killed. So it’s a high risk.
Ignore Traffic Laws. You will have a 50% caught rate. If you get caught you will be ticketed. Although if you continue to get caught over 3 times you’ll lose your license for a year. And if you continue to do this after that it will be revoked and you’ll have to hire a personal driver for $50 per hour or drive without a license. You can decrease your chances of getting caught the faster your car is and the more lights and license plate covers you put on your car.
Drive Without a License. If you loose your license for reckless driving you won’t have a license and if you wanna drive without a license there will be a 40% caught rate. In which you’ll got to jail for 1 year. And the more you continue to do it, the more your future jail sentences will be every time you get caught.
Get a Fake ID. You can buy on with bitcoin online and once you have it you can get into clubs but if you get into fights you’ll be arrested since the cops will eventually find out you’ve used a fake ID to get into the club. And you can attend events with your parents and older friends.
Drink Underage. You can also have a drink with stuff you bought at the liquor store with your Fake ID or just your parents’ Alchool. You can also ask your parents to buy you Alchool for you as well so you can have more drinks. You can also be caught for it if you do it at a party and the cops bust the party for noise complaints.
Do Drugs. Be careful as you’ll become addicted if you do it too much and your parents might find out potentially. If you do it at a party or a club you’ll have a 60% caught rate.
Fraud. There will be a 60% caught rate if you pretend to sell something online.
Click Fraud. If you install a bot on your YouTube channel you’ll be sued by google for click fraud and not only will you loose your channel and have to make another one and start your whole career all over again, you’ll also have will have to pay a humongous fine as well. There is a 80% caught rate.
Other Stuff:
The ability to take the license plate off the car. To decrease your chances of being caught for it. You’ll need to do this if you are becoming a street racer so the police don’t arrest you and so you don’t become wanted.
The ability to tint your windows or buy shades or disguises so you can get away form the police if you are street racing. You can also make a fake name as well so you’ll be known as that so you won’t have to reveal your identity to any of by our street racer friends but your chances of being caught are higher the more famous you are at like 40% percent the more famous you get the more likely you are to eventually get caught someday doing it.
Put a fake dealership on the car. Which will even further decrease your chances of getting caught.
Put a fake label on the car and pretend it’s another brand. Which would potentially get you sued for copyright infringement if you sell it.
The ability to buy non-street legal parts like spoilers and bodykits that aren’t street legal. Which would get your car impounded potentially the more upgrades you put on it. But if you attend and participate in street racing events you’ll get more reputation and if your car is faster you’ll win the races and get paid a lot of money. You can do this at 16 but your parents will become suspicious.
The ability to move to Mexico, and then another country after that to get away from the police and it will be another option to get away from being arrested.
Once you become a frequent street racer you’ll have a rep section on your “Street Rep” section int the, “Commit a Crime” section. You can check to see how much money you’ve made and how much you’re known in the street racing community. Then you can also be promoted or even kicked out for neglecting them if you cease doing it for a while.
If you sell a stolen car, and the person you sell it to gets caught after you sell it to them with it, your, “Guilt” level will rise which will compromise your happiness as you will have the feeling Iike you just, “Killed a Man” kind of thing.
Import a Car. It will cost a lot over $1,000,000 to do this. You can also illegally import it which will have a 80% caught rate and you will be put in prison for 3 years for smuggling and you obviously will lose the car and it will be crushed.
Non-criminal stuff: (NOT related to this topic and just my idea overflow so I don’t end up looking like I’m spamming the sub which I don’t mean to, just very excited about my ideas that’s all haha lol.)
The ability to admit your fetishes to people which may comprise your reputation and cause your parents or your friends to judge you. (With the ability of doing nothing about it or insulting or arguing with them back.)
The ability to do kinks with your partner. Whatever your fetish is. .........you get the point. But be careful cause If you do BDSM, you will get a lot of injuries and your health might potentially go down, and if you do it to your partner they could have the right to sue you for assault by 30%. Not a whole lot of a risk, but it can potentially be based on the person that you are with.
The ability to give your partner a lap dance. This is a way of getting your partner to like you by 10%.
Get naked in front of your partner. This will make your partner like you by 20%.
Tell you partner what they like. This will increase your partners’ appreciation for you by 15%.

ALERT: The SECOND result for "bitcoin wallet" on the Apple Store is a SCAM wallet that went live a few days ago. We have to get it removed, this is very important and can hurt people.

Guys, we have to get this removed. It's called "Bitcoin Wallet" and they're imitating "Bitcoin Wallet" that's on Android (this wallet isn't officially on iOS as confirmed by the developer)
The description of the wallet shows pictures of the Android version of it, however once you download the wallet it's a reskinned one based off the breadwallet source code (the description screenshots don't even match what it really looks like, how it functions). There was a user here who reported funds stolen with it.
Do NOT use this wallet and help get it removed!! https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bitcoin-wallet/id1137555856?mt=8
Edit: there was news that 8 wallets, infringing on copyrights, all went live the past two days and with them all looking the same except for logo changes: https://www.reddit.com/Bitcoin/comments/4w77sq/important_multiple_fake_wallets_making_it_to_the/
2nd Edit: Today alone there were two more fake scam wallets added, that brings us to 10 scam wallets:
BitGo - Bitcoin Wallet by Bit Coin https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bitgo-bitcoin-wallet/id1140807310?mt=8
CoinPase - Bitcoin Wallet by Simple Bitcoin https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/coinpase-bitcoin-wallet/id1140886795?mt=8
3rd Edit: Community driven success!! With the exception of the two below wallets, all 8 of the other scam wallets were just taken off the store!!! Please help and report the two below wallets!
BitGo - Bitcoin Wallet by Bit Coin https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bitgo-bitcoin-wallet/id1140807310?mt=8
CoinPase - Bitcoin Wallet by Simple Bitcoin https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/coinpase-bitcoin-wallet/id1140886795?mt=8

Asking about copyright, can I use these symbols, phrases, pictures?

I'd like to submit a design for clothing and accessories. The company makes something unique and really cool, I have been their customer for about 2 years and I'd like to be one of the artists.
My design is about Bitcoin. It will feature candlesticks, the Bitcoin logo, the phrase "Buy the dip" and the font used by Bitcoin (Ubuntu Font Family).
As for the candlesticks, I will not use a screenshot from TradingView or some exchange, I will personally make them in Photoshop.
Are any of these copyrighted? Can I be sued for the commercial use of them? I have seen t-shirts and other stuff with the Bitcoin logo and "Buy the dip" everywhere, have these guys acquired rights to produce and sell these products?
This is an excerpt from their rules about designs: Designs: You are responsible for any designs you post. Please make sure that you have a strong understanding of copyright law. Any designs submitted using images that you don’t own commercial rights to use are your responsibility. If you submit a design that is infringing, you will be responsible for the fallout. This includes brushes, fonts, stock images, etc. Works that are inspired by someone else’s IP (such as shows, movies, books, etc) have a HUGE potential for copyright infringement, and will most likely get rejected outright.

I posted this on the Bitcoin subreddit, but they recommended to make a post here too. I should mention that Bitcoin is an open source project, not a company, nobody owns it and the logo is open to the public. I believe I can use all of these for my design, but I want to be sure. Is there any website where I can search for copyrights and trademarks associated with these symbols/logos?
If anyone knows, are any of these copyrighted? Can I be sued for the commercial use of them? I have seen t-shirts and other stuff with the Bitcoin logo and "Buy the dip" everywhere, have these guys acquired rights to produce and sell these products?
I live in Albania (Europe) and the company I will submit my design to is American (offices in Los Angeles)

Asking about copyright of logos, symbols, phrases, fonts?

I first posted this on /Bitcoin, but didn't get any valuable help. One of the two replies recommended reposting this on /legaladvice, but got no answer there at all. So I decided to ask my dear Monero community.

If it has success, I will probably make a design about Monero too!

How to License Litecoin name/logo for merch?

I'm seeing a lot of litecoin related merchandise (clothing, accessories etc) hitting the market, whether it's the LTC symbol or word used in a design. Aside from one site that seems to have created official partnerships with bitcoin, litecoin and dash team respectively (https://alwayshodl.com/) aren't all these merch sites infringing on a trademark/copyright? Does anyone know where to find out where the ltc team stands on this or whether they allow licensing for use of the name/logo?

Does Ethereum (name/logo) allow licensing for merchandising rights? Making t-shirts etc?

I'm seeing a lot of ethereum related merchandise (clothing, accessories etc) hitting the market, whether it's the eth symbol or word used in a design. Aside from one site that seems to have created official partnerships with bitcoin, litecoin and dash team respectively (https://alwayshodl.com/) aren't all these merch sites infringing on a trademark/copyright? Does anyone know where to find out where the eth team stands on this or whether they allow licensing for use of the name/logo?

ALERT: The SECOND result for "bitcoin wallet" on the Apple Store is a SCAM wallet that went live a few days ago. We have to get it removed, this is very important and can hurt people.

Guys, we have to get this removed. It's called "Bitcoin Wallet" and they're imitating "Bitcoin Wallet" that's on Android (this wallet isn't officially on iOS as confirmed by the developer)
The description of the wallet shows pictures of the Android version of it, however once you download the wallet it's a reskinned one based off the breadwallet source code.

1st RDAD Retro-gaming contest !

Welcome to the first RDAD Retro-gaming contest

A bit of History:

Introduction

As someone could imagine, we need an emulator for play this game (maybe you are lucky enough to be the owner of the real machine.. but nah.. chances are 0,1%). So let's talk a bit of techie details.
There are many emulators that would run nicely the game. These emulators needs a ROM file (An exact copy of the data stored in the original hardware cards inside the arcade machine). Of course, you will need a computer to run the emulator.
In this point, We will tell you that your computer needs very few requirements for run the emulator, so don´t be afraid of your machine's specs.
I'll recomend you to use this emulator: Kawaks
Kawaks is a software designed for Microsoft Windows that would run seamlessly on a wide variety of environments, spanning across all operating system versions since XP. It's higly customizable, but pretty straightforward to get things run.
There are others emulators, like Callus, but Kawaks would work better with your graphic card (whatever it be) and the screenshot feature is easier than Callus. We will need to take screenshots, with whatever emulator you use, because this is the way to post your score, right? This point will be discussed later.
The second component, is the rom. This file contains the whole game. You don´t need to open or decompress this file, it's ok as is, so you only need to download to a folder on your computer.

First Step

You need to download the emulator and the rom. For emulator, go to winkawaks website. Under "downloads" option at the right column, you can download a zip package called WinKawaks.zip 1.63. For the contest, is enought to extract the executable file called winkawaks.exe to a folder.
For rom, you must search using google or similar to a file called cawing.zip (1.4mb). Romnation is a website that offers rom files for direct download.
NOTE: Downloading this type of files could be a Copyright Infringement and I am not responsible whatever damage you could do to your system if you download this type of file. If you are not sure what are you doing, please, do not try to complete this guide.

Second Step

After downloading the Rom file put winkawaks.exe and rom file to a folder on your hard drive (we will need this folder ahead, so keep in mind this detail). This is a pretty straightforward process. ATTENTION: Keep the rom zip file as is, decompressing is not needed. After that, you must execute this: WinKawaks.exe This is a portable version of the emulator, so you will not need to install anything on your computer.

Third Step

Ok, I feel your excitement, so double click!. The emulator will show you a message about auto-configure the optimal graphics options. After that, you are in the main screen with the SNK and CAPCOM logo.
Let´s do a quick tweak, head your pointer to File Menu, and then: Configure Paths.
We will see a bunch of paths, but we are looking specifically at two under labels: ROMS2 and SCREENSHOTS. Clicking on browser buttons will bring you an explorer and you will choose this: ROMS2: Find the directory where you uncompressed the whole thing on Second Step. SCREENSHOTS: Choose your directory where the snapshots will be saved for further use. THIS IS IMPORTANT Because the contest relies on your ability to post those screenshots.
We have time restraints, lets play! DAMN!. Point on File Menu -> Load Game. A gorgeus windows open in your eyes with a great lists of fine game for mature adults, but dont feel too excited, we only have one, CARRIER AIR WING, remember?, so let´s do some filtering setting the bulleted options to: Only available and then: Refresh. Does you see the game title? Yes? C'MON Put your speakers to 200% volume and double click! YaY!
CONTROLS SO FAR:
I will not explain you how to play, it's self explanable after 20 seconds.. choose your plane and pew pew pew..
And thats all! Nice? yes!

The contest

Ok, After finish the setup and play the game, let's talk about the contest. This will run a whole week starting at XXX and finishing at XXX Every time you die, you will be asked for your initials, and you will see the top chart. In this moment, TAKE A SCREENSHOT WITH THIS KEYS: CTRL + P (Only for Kawaks). This will spawn a PNG file on the directory set on Third Step under the label SCREENSHOTS. This is your entry to the contest. You must send a link to the PNG file (by imgur i.e.) to me and I'll collect all. Win the player with highest score.
Resume:
Additional Info:
You can use whatever emulator of your choice, maybe you'd prefeer callus, or mame.. or play with a modded Xbox.. but I don´t know how to get screenshots on those ways. Additionally, we could accept any format that you are capable of snap the score chart. So set your smartphone ready, right? If you use CALLUS, take in mind that you need to lower your screen deep colour to 16 bits and you will be able to take a screenshot with Windows: PRNT SCREEN key.. Callus is easy, but this is a pain!
What if the score chart hides after 2 or 3 seconds? Wait until the intro. The machine will show you the current chart. (Did you remember the alert about clogging the machine with coins? This is because the machine will not show the chart if coins inserted, so you must expend all the coins prior to see the chart again).
Can I use my USB pad! well, some pads works, some not..you could try it under the Game menu, Redefine Keys.. and try it.
NOTE TO CHEATTERS: Due to the nature of emulators is more than easy to make cheats in game, like spawn more lives, slow down the pace, etc.. So we strongly encourage our participants to not do any cheat. We don´t cheat! right?. Well, in this point I want to say that there are better systems to play due to keyboards, gamepads. We cannont warrant a perfect balance between contestants, so please, don´t take things too serious, NefariousOaf will win, isnt?. Oh, it's possible to "continue" the game using the 2nd player slot, but this will be considered as cheat!, so only one live!
Using USB pads will not be considered cheat. Keys works flawlessly, but due to the wide spectrum of hardware available, maybe your keyboard will not work nice, so feel free to ask and I'll try to find a solution, alternative keys, etc..
CONCLUSION:
At last! Feel absolutely free to ask me any details involving your set-up, mechanics, whatever..
Special Thanks to jpier for his help! he's a good man.
UPDATE at 05/10/2015
Update First Step: Removing direct link download due to copyright concerns. Update Second Step with new details about ROM and Emulator and the way it works. Update Date Format to dd/mm/yyyy to mm/dd/yyyy on Post's dates.
Pew pew pew..boom!

A Non-technical Bitcoin Primer (Part 2)

This is a continuation of Part 1.
PSEUDONYMITY Unlike credit card transactions, in which you give your name, Bitcoin transactions are pseudonymous (a pseudonym being an identifier other than your real name). Instead of having your name on your account, you have a public key, which is just a sequence of letters and numbers, like the one below.
3J98t1WpEZ73CNmQviecrnyiWrnqRhWNLy
That's your pseudonym.
People who are concerned with privacy view this as an advantage, since it enables you to make payments without revealing your identity.
Critics worry that this system facilitates crime, and proponents counter that cash is much better for criminals. Why?
Your account may be represented by some random sequence, instead of your name, but all Bitcoin transactions that have ever occurred are available for scrutiny on a public ledger called the blockchain. This data opens up the possibility of investigative methods to which cash is not susceptible.
Also, those who are concerned about criminals may be missing the point. It's sort of like censors in the mid-twentieth century who hadn't conceived of the World Wide Web (preventing kids from being exposed to profanity these days is a bit more difficult, to say the least).
The thing they're missing is that Bitcoin is only one of many cryptocurrencies, and others (such as zerocoin) are being developed that will provide much greater privacy.
File sharing on the internet is another example of how those seeking to overregulate Bitcoin might be missing the point. Early on, we had Napster, which was shut down due to concerns over copyright infringement. The effect of this shutdown appears to have been essentially the opposite of the intended effect. Instead of stopping illegal file sharing, it accelerated the development of file-sharing technologies that were even more difficult to stop. Since demand still existed, Kazaa came to the fore, and now we have BitTorrent.
It's "hard to put the genie back in the bottle," as Ben Lawsky, New York's Superintendent of Financial Services, has pointed out. When it comes to reducing crime, overregulation of Bitcoin could lead to an increased resistance to law-enforcement efforts, as we saw with file-sharing, while at the same time taking away from its many benefits.
THREATS TO BITCOIN'S SUCCESS When evaluating Bitcoin's chances for success or trying to understand price fluctuations, it's important to keep several key issues in mind.
ADOPTION Both merchant and consumer adoption are important, and both have been growing.
On the merchant side, we now have large reputable companies accepting Bitcoin, such as Overstock.com, Expedia, and Dish Network. See, for example, the list of companies working with Coinbase.
On the consumer side, one way to track growth is to look at the number of bitcoin wallets (wallets are to Bitcoin what accounts are to the traditional banking system). This number has also been growing steadily.
The website http://www.bitcoinpulse.com/ is one place to track such things.
Another interesting thing to watch will be the MIT Bitcoin Giveaway, in which $100 in bitcoins will be given to every MIT undergraduate in the fall 2014 semester.
ROBUSTNESS OF THE TECHNOLOGY One possible threat is that some kind of bug or design flaw will cause the system to crash. The technology has been around since 2009, and Bitcoin has been resilient so far. For example, it survived a distributed denial of service attack early this year.
There are a number of design issues to consider, such as scalability, mining centralization, and so forth, but there are a lot of people working on these issues. In fact, Bitcoin is considered by some to be supported by the largest research and development community in the world. Something like 10,000 of the smartest people in the world are working on issues such as scalability and user-friendliness.
COMPETING TECHNOLOGIES There is a chance that another technology that is superior to Bitcoin will emerge to kill it. At present, however, Bitcoin is the clear leader among cryptocurrencies, and it becomes more difficult to overtake as time passes, due to the network effect.
Already, Bitcoin is supported by a massive amount of infrastructure, in the form of mining equipment, exchanges, startup companies backed by venture capitalists like Andreessen Horowitz, software applications, and so forth.
REGULATION There is some chance that governments could slow the growth of the Bitcoin economy, for example by issuing regulations that make it difficult for exchanges to operate.
Regulations in China led to a sharp decrease in the price for a time. Many governments have reacted more favorably. In the U.S., the regulatory outlook has been improving. We've seen increased clarity from the IRS and are expecting favorable regulations to come out of New York sometime this month, which may make it easier for exchanges to get established in New York. This could lead to more liquidity and would reduce the risk of shock from one exchange going down.
Moreover, the U.S. just sold about 18 million dollars' worth of seized bitcoins in an auction, which provides additional legitimacy to the currency.
A FINAL NOTE: SOCIAL AND POLITICAL RAMIFICATIONS For better or worse, one thing large-scale technologies seem to have in common is their unpredictability. Who would have predicted that a social media platform called Twitter with a cute little bird logo would end up facilitating political revolutions throughout the Arab world?
FURTHER RESOURCES This article by Marc Andreessen gives a good overview.
A nice way to get started is also to just check out bitcoin regularly. The users here range from noobs to developers and Bitcoin entrepreneurs. So, you’ll see more technical talk and in depth discussion than you see in typical media stories, and you can ask if you don’t understand.
You can also try the Bitcoin 101 Blackboard Series, which I hear is quite good.
For a quick video on the technical aspects of Bitcoin, you can try the video Bitcoin Under the Hood or the shorter, less technical version of this video.
For another explanation of the technical underpinnings, you might try the Khan Academy videos.
If you're looking to purchase your first bitcoin, then depending on where in the world you live, you might consider getting started with Coinbase. It's reputable and very easy to use. Many people will advise you not to store your coins on a web wallet, but buying a few coins (or a fraction of a coin) on Coinbase is a good way to start as a beginner. Please be aware, though, that this is a new industry and purchasing Bitcoin in any form carries risk, so do your research. I wouldn't want to be the one recommending Coinbase just before someone manages to hack it!
I hope that helps!

Has anyone else heard about TorGuard.net accepting Bitcoin?

I just read an article on Torrentfreak about Paypal cutting off TorGuard.net's financial services because of their "relationship" with copyright infringement. I went to the site to see what they had to offer, come to find out they offer the same services I'm currently purchasing from BTGuard for about HALF the price AND they have a "we accept Bitcoin" logo on their front page.
Just surprised I didn't know about this. I think I might be changing services. LOVE IT when i find out I can buy it for Bitcoin instead. :)
