Urgent Advice Needed - Issues Refunding Money to a Client, Possible Money Laundering?
Hey everyone, so buckle up, this is a story. I'm a freelance translator with my name and contact info out on several sites to connect translators to clients. So, when I got an email from my customer, L, I didn't think anything of it when she asked me to translate a research paper from German to English. Prior to even opening the document she sent me, I told her I wanted a contract signed - nothing major, just run of the mill stuff. You know, to make sure both of us were protected. It entailed a 50% deposit for me (this paper was 46 pages and I have a policy that past X amount of words, I need a deposit for any time spent on a project. It's non-refundable, so I get paid even if the project gets canceled). She refused both of those things. Like most people, I'm in a pretty tough spot right now. I knew I shouldn't have even continued speaking with her, but with my fee agreed upon, I was looking at almost $10,000 for the entire projected when all three phases were complete. After refusing to sign a contract and agree to a deposit, she told me, and this is a direct quote "the money will be our contract". I was willing to operate on good faith, so I told her I'd get to work when the payment processed. The amount we agreed on for Phase One was 1150.00, but she sent me - via her "sponsor", some random account in Arizona, even though she claims to be overseas - 7,176.00. There was no warning, no notice telling me that they were sending me more than we agreed, or that the payment would be coming from Arizona. I contacted L and asked for clarification. She told me it was for payment for the next 2 phases due to start in the fall. I accepted that and kept working. I finished the project 2 weeks before it was due and sent her the final document. Two days later, she sends at email telling me that the final 2 phases have been postponed and she needs the extra 6 grand or so back, asap. Well, things happen, whatever. So I asked her how she wanted it returned to her. This is where shit gets weird. First, she tells me she wants it done via Zelle, which is connected directly to my bank. She sends me a contact and asks for all of the money to be sent at once. I tell her that since it's a new recipient, I can only send $500 and there's monthly limits on my account as to how much I can send in a 30 day period. Now, her name is Lara, that's the only person I've been talking to directly. But the name on the Zelle account was Caldon H. I thought that was the name of her sponsor. She proceeds to ignore my telling her about sending limits and demands a refund. I explain to her again, with screenshots from my banking app backing me up, that I'm limited by sending limits. I tell her that I'll repay her in $500 installments until all the surplus funds are returned. Not fast enough. She then demands I use Cashapp. Oiy. This was a mess. I did reading and research on the app, since I'd never heard of it before and was alarmed to say the least. But she was sending text after text, email after email demanding a status update. She sends me another account to transfer the money to: Linda. So, so far we have Lara, Caldon, Linda. Keep count of those names. I ask who Linda is, no answer, just more demands. Cashapp, true to fashion, fails. I'm unable to add so much as a dollar to my account to send "Linda" and while I wrestle with this and try and find support to contact - HAH - I get payment requests via Cashapp and yet more emails and texts from Lara. I explain to Lara, once again with screenshots showing that the app isn't working despite my linking both my debit card and checking account to it. She ignores that. Linda sends more payment requests. I tell her, hey this isn't working. What about Venmo? Paypal? She ignores that and demands wire transfer. She sends account info for someone named Mark. I ask who Mark is, no response. I attempt to send the wire transfer via my banking website and the bank legit tells me that that account does not accept wire transfers. What... So, more screenshots and then I ask her to double check account and routing numbers. She gets back to me with "the information is correct. Be patient when entering numbers." As if it's my fault. So I try it again and it fails, again. After that I contact my bank directly and speak with their support line. We do the whole song and dance and they tell me that everything is kosher on my end, but the issue lies with the information I was given, confirming my suspicions. I send her another email explaining everything, that I'd spoken directly with bank support. She tells me, once again, that the fault is mine and to just go to the post office and get money orders in $1000.00 amounts, leaving the recipient blank... Yeah you read that right. Leave it blank. Overnight it via Fedex to some guy named James, in Georgia. Arizona, Georgia, Germany. James, Caldon, Linda, Matthew, Lara. I tell her point blank, I can't go to the post office. I'm in Idaho and COVID cases are skyrocketing. I'm high risk, so is my partner and one of my two roommates. Like, die for sure, high risk. I try a wire transfer via Western Union instead. At this point, this has been going on for a week. I've been getting 4am texts and 6am phone calls for a week. She's on me for about 10-12 hours a day. I'm a full-time student on top of this, with one more semester of undergrad. But classes have taken a back seat so I can deal with this. Western Union holds the transfer under review and tells me that it will take 6 business days to show up in James' account. I tell Lara and assume that we're on the final leg of this mess. Surprise, WU cancels the wire transfer. I call support and they tell me it's issues with the account I'm sending money to. I tell Lara and she starts getting snappy. We try wire transfers for the last time, this time to someone named Matthew Green, different Matthew than the first, in Dallas. It fails. I spend $60 trying to send them. My bank calls ME and says they're concerned about fraud. I tell them I'm trying to send money and confirm info I was given. Once again, everything is fine with me, but it's issues with the account Lara wants me to send money to. I tell her and once again she changes her track. She demands, again, money orders, same rules as last time and I tell her no, again and explain why. She ignores that and tells me to do Cashapp, again. We spend an entire day with me telling that I'm not comfortable with Cashapp. It's not dependabe, it doesn't work. There's no support for me to contact if things go wrong - which of course it will - and she insists. She ignores my concerns and insists. I tell her, fine, but I want a written and signed statement from you that you are demanding this and that I'm not responsible if things get messed up and you never get the money. She signs a statement and the I try again. Same issues. I tell that, in another long email. By this point, it's been 2 weeks. I'm stressed, drained and tired of her weird behavior. I tell her that I've been understanding and patient with her. I've tried to help her fix her mistake of sending too much money too soon. That we never agreed on that much money and reminding her that SHE refused to sign a contact that would have protected us both. I tell her, Paypal or Venmo. No cashapp, no wire transfers (which I'm out $60 trying to send fyi). Paypal or venmo. If she doesn't have an account, find someone that does. She sends me a Paypal account url for someone named Micheal. A new name. I ask who Micheal is, who are these people? Why are they all over the US? She ignores that, demands the money. I try to send payments, but I can't send more than $5 to MIcheal at a time. I tell Lara and she blames me. Says I'm not doing it right. I'm supposed to send payments in multiple transactions of varying amounts, small to large. "No Tracking info", whatever that means. I tell her, look, I can't send you anything. Check your account info, I'm tired of this BS. She sends the same info again, nothing about her contacting support for once. I try again. It fails, same issues. I contact support myself and they tell me - - you guessed it, my account is solid. Hers is not. She is why the money isn't going through. I tell her that and suggest Venmo. At this point, I can't think of anything else and I'm planning on contacting my bank to ask advice, but my last request for Venmo was made at 11:30pm MST. I'd been dealing with this since 8am MST. I was tired, done. I sent that email and screencaps and turned my phone off for the night. I get up this morning, make my coffee and check my work email. I get an email form Lara saying that I'm the reason the payments are failing "once again" and "following my instructions, now. Send it via Venmo, no tracking info. Do it now." I decide to be a sport one last time. I try Venmo. It fails. I'm writing this post to ask for what other steps, legally, I need to take to protect myself. Once again, she didn't sign a contract. I've saved all emails and texts, and all of them show they we agreed on 1150.00 as payment for this job. They show that I've tried to return the money to her over the course of 2 weeks. She refuses to let me speak to Coldon, Linda, Matthew Green, Matthew M, James (who she claims died yesterday), or Micheal Brown. She answers none of my questions. She sends aggressive emails and so many texts that I had to block her number on my phone. I'm completely at a loss. The longer this goes on, the less legit it seems and I need some advice. I plan to speak to my bank today and ask if they can refund the money to the account that paid me. I can't get info on that account from Lara, no routing or account numbers. So my hopes are slim. I have no idea if Lara has any legal recourse or ground to stand on, since she refused to sign a contract and all attempts to return the money to her have failed. As I said, I've saved all emails and texts showing that I tried to work with her. Any ideas? Anything would help. I want this to be over and done with. UPDATE: I contacted the fraud department at my bank, explained everything and they said that we see that you've attempted to return the money multiple times and none of it has worked. They said I have 2 more options: "If they really want that money, offer to send a personal check. We'll start a research claim in the meantime and that will take up to 10 business days to either be resolved, or you will be contacted by a member of the Research Claims department." I asked what my options are if they refuse a personal check and the banker said "Then you've done everything you can. Wait for the research claim to be resolved or to be contacted. You've done everything you can up to this point and we can see that clearly." Lara has refused a personal check, demanding a cashier's check instead. I told her "My bank advised me to only send personal checks, not cashier's check. There must be a name and a legit address. I will not leave it blank." She asked me to send it via bitcoin. My reply: No. I have filed a research claim with the fraud department of my bank to get to the bottom of this. They will resolve it as they see fit. That will be my last communication with her.
The team’s overall technical background is good, and the CTO and CEO of the project have rich experience in related industries;
The current business scope of CoinEx has been expanded, and the development of the public chain has a decisive role in promoting the development of the exchange business;
The project operation information is transparent, and the development process is consistent with the road map;
The unlocking schedule is clear, and the token held by the team will be unlocked continuously in the next five years;
The project uses POS consensus mechanism. At present, it has been launched on the main network, and the block time is stable, between 2–3 seconds.
It is not clear enough yet whether the trichain operation planning can achieve the project’s development goals;
There is limited information on implementation details about cross-chain and other related technologies, and the development status needs to be assessed based on the later project development disclosure information;
The team currently hold a large share of the token, hence the distribution of tokens is relatively concentrated;
There are few application scenarios for project tokens, and more ecosystem scenarios need to be developed;
As a deflationary token, CET needs to be balanced by dealing with the contradiction between public chain users and token holders.
The development of CoinEx Chain contributes to the future development of CoinEx’s centralized and decentralized exchanges; the concept of trichain operation simplifies the functions of each chain, improving their performance. At present, there are few exchanges working on the public chain, and no fierce competition has occurred.
Considering the status and development prospects of the project, TokenInsight gives CoinEx a rating of BB with a stable outlook.

CoinEx (CoinEx Technology Limited) was established in December 2017 and is headquartered in Hong Kong, China. It is a sub-brand of the ViaBTC mining pool. At present, CoinEx’s business scope includes CoinEx exchange, CoinEx public chain, and CoinEx decentralized exchange. The current development focus of the CoinEx platform are public chain and exchange. The main purpose of the public chain is to build a decentralized exchange (DEX) infrastructure and an ecosystem around DEX. CoinEx business structure，Source: CoinEx; TokenInsight
“ CoinEx Chain uses the parallel operation of three chains which are DEX, Smart, and Privacy, as well as cross-chain technologies to create a rich decentralized exchange ecosystem and blockchain financial infrastructure. The core of CoinEx’s early business was the exchange, consisted of two major categories which were spot and derivatives trading. Currently, there are 123 trading currencies online, covering 302 trading pairs. On June 28, 2019, CoinEx released the CoinEx Chain public chain white paper, aiming to build a decentralized trading system (CoinEx DEX) with community-based operations and transparent transaction rules, and providing user-controlled asset trading scenario by the highest technical standards in the industry; CoinEx Chain has become another development focus of CoinEx. CoinEx Token (CET), which was originally a native token of the CoinEx exchange, will also be developed mainly as a built-in token of the public chain. CoinEx Chain is a public chain based on the Tendermint consensus protocol and Cosmos SDK, and it uses POS mechanism. CoinEx Chain plans to support 42 nodes when the project starts, and any entity in the ecosystem can participate in the validator’s campaign by staking CET. CoinEx Chain will use the new block reward and the transaction fee contained in the block as the reward for running the node. CoinEx Chain has developed three public chains with different positioning and different functions in order to meet the needs of blockchain transactions for transaction performance, smart contracts, and privacy protection at the same time. They operate in parallel and collaborate with each other through cross-chain technology. At present, the block time of the public chain is between 2–3 seconds. According to the observation of TokenInsight, the block time is stable, but the number of transactions through the CoinEx public chain is still low at present, the number of transactions in 24 hours is about 30,000; The TPS on public chain disclosed by CoinEx can reach up to 1500 per second. CoinEx Chain uses a trichain parallel model to build a more vibrant ecosystem around DEX. The three chains are DEX public chain, Smart public chain, and Privacy public chain, respectively responsible for decentralized transactions, smart contracts, and on-chain privacy protection. CETs that need to participate in complex financial contracts can be transferred to the Smart public chain through the DEX public chain, then moved back to the DEX public chain after that. CET tokens that need to participate in token confusion can also be carried out through the privacy transaction of the Privacy public chain, and can eventually be returned to the DEX public chain. The three public chains are responsible for their respective duties, and they are interconnected through the cross-chain technology through the relay mechanism. In addition to ensuring their respective transaction processing speed and functional attributes, they can also jointly provide richer and safer functions, and synergistically constitute the CoinEx decentralized public chain ecosystem. In addition, CoinEx Chain also supports any participant to issue new tokens on the chain and create new trading pairs for the issued tokens. CoinEx Chain guarantees the circulation of new tokens by establishing a trading pair between the new token and CET.
2.2 Component architecture
“ Tendermint Core and Cosmos SDK have improved the performance and operation capability of the blockchain. The SDK packaging reduces the consideration of non-related logic, hence reducing the development complexity. CoinEx Chain is based on Tendermint Core and Cosmos SDK, both of which have brought a big boost to the development of CoinEx public chain performance. Cosmos-SDK will implement the application logic of the blockchain. Together with the Tendermint consensus engine, it implements the three-layer architecture of the CoinEx public chain: the application layer, the consensus layer, and the network layer. Tendermint Tendermint is based on the state machine replication technology and is suitable for blockchain ledger storage. It is a list of transactions making consensus with Byzantine fault tolerance, the transactions are executed in the same order, and eventually the same state is obtained. Tendermint can be used to build various distributed applications. Cosmos SDK Cosmos-SDK is a blockchain framework that supports the construction of multiple assets with a consensus mechanism of POS (Proof of Stake) or POA (Proof of Authority). The goal of the Cosmos SDK is to allow developers to easily build custom blockchains from 0, while enabling the interaction with other blockchains. Cosmos-SDK is a blockchain framework that supports the construction of multiple assets with a consensus mechanism of POS (Proof of Stake) or POA (Proof of Authority). The goal of the Cosmos SDK is to allow developers to easily build custom blockchains from 0, while enabling the interaction with other blockchains. The blockchain development framework Cosmos SDK implements general functions such as account management, community governance, and staking in a modular form. Therefore, using the Cosmos SDK to build a public chain can simplify development procedures and facilitate operation. Tendermint is a fixed protocol in a partially synchronized environment, which can achieve throughput within a delay range of the network and each process itself. The CoinEx public chain is developed based on both, improving the performance and operability of the blockchain. The SDK packaging further reduces considerations of non-related logic and reduces the complexity of developers creating. The two components of Tendermint and Cosmos SDK are connected and interacted through the Application Blockchain Interface. Cosmos SDK and Tendermint interworking structure，Source:CoinEx; TokenInsight
2.3 Project public chain planning
The development plan of the CoinEx public chain is to create a series of public chains with specific application directions, including:
DEX public chain: solve the problems of lack of security and opacity that are widely criticized by centralized exchanges at present; aim to build a transparent, safe, and permission-free financial platform; restore the experience of central exchanges to the greatest extent；
Smart public chain: a public chain that specifically supports smart contracts and provides a platform for building complex financial applications;
Privacy public chain: mainly provides transaction amount, account balance, and information protection and the hiding of both parties to the transaction.
In order to achieve the performance of each specific application public chain, each public chain in the CoinEx public chain focuses on the development of a certain function. For example, in order to improve the transaction processing speed of the DEX public chain, the DEX public chain only supports the necessary functions and does not support smart contracts. To achieve the smart contract function support, cross-chain connection between the DEX public chain and the Smart public chain is required.
2.4 Operation analysis
“ The CoinEx platform publishes monthly ecosystem reports with high transparency; but the monthly reports are limited to contents about transactions and development, and lack progress in ecosystem and community construction, making them relatively simple. 2.4.1 Disclosure of ecosystem information Operational risks have a direct impact on platform users. Whether platform operations are smooth and whether there is transparency are issues that platform users care about. The CoinEx platform was established in 2017 and has around 3 years of development. It is also one of the platforms that has been developing for a long time in the exchange industry. It has obtained a digital currency trading license issued by the Estonian Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), and the platform’s compliance is guaranteed to some degree. The actual operation of the CoinEx platform will be displayed in the form of ecosystem monthly reports. The monthly report contains various types of content such as online currencies, new activities, plans for the next month, and ecosystem dynamics. It involves multiple business dimensions including the CoinEx exchange, CoinEx Public Chain, and CET token. https://preview.redd.it/4mt0999ere551.png?width=631&format=png&auto=webp&s=cba27a7c90275f4c033bdd2445a72e6f294265e8 Snippet of a CoinEx ecosystem monthly report，Source: CoinEx; TokenInsight 2.4.2 Roadmap CoinEx Chain released its development roadmap for the four quarters of 2020 in January 2020. The roadmap shows that CoinEx Chain will undergo major updates on smart contracts and DEX hard fork upgrades. The project roadmap is basically planned on a monthly basis, with a clear plan and a clear direction of development. CoinEx Public Chain 2020 Development Roadmap，Source: CoinEx; TokenInsight In addition to the development route planned in the roadmap, CoinEx public chain also discloses its goals for next month in its monthly ecological report. The project’s main net was launched online in November 2019. According to TokenInsight’s review of the development of CoinEx public chain from January to April and the disclosure of the project’s ecosystem monthly report, the project’s plan about development of the smart contract Demo in February failed to be completed as planned; the project completed launching of the new version of the blockchain browser and the Asian Atlantis upgrade; the smart contract virtual machine development was planned to be completed in April, but the progress related to supporting cross-chain agreements was not disclosed yet. Overall, the project’s development route planning is clear, and the project’s development schedule is consistent with the plan, but there are still some discrepancies. Operation and development information is disclosed every month, and information transparency is high.
3. Industry & Competitors
The earliest origin of the exchange layout in the public chain field began in early 2018 when Binance released an announcement to start the development of the Binance Public Chain officially. In June of the same year, Huobi announced at its brand upgrade conference that it will combine the technical capabilities of the Huobi technical team and the community developers to develop the Huobi public chain called “Huobi Chain”. In December of the same year, OK Group announced the launch of its self-developed public chain OKchain, dedicating to provide underlying technical support and services for startups stationed in B-Labs. The successful launch of the public chain brings huge strategic significance to the exchange, which can not only improve the performance of the existing business of the exchange but also achieve further expansion of its influence. As one of the most important blockchain infrastructures, the public chain can benefit the exchanges behind it. As a platform for developing public chain technology exchanges, CoinEx’s main competitors in the field of public chain development include Binance, Huobi, and OKEx. Although they are all exchange platforms for deploying public chains, the above four are different in terms of specific functions, economic models, and critical points of the public chain.
3.1 Development progress comparison
In 2019, Binance became the first exchange to launch a public chain among all digital asset exchanges, and its main product is Binance exchange (DEX). In April 2020, Binance announced the launch of a second smart contract chain, using Ethereum’s virtual machine, so that developers can build decentralized applications without affecting the performance and functionality of their original chain. OKEx launched OKChain’s testnet in February 2020 and completed open source two months later. OKChain is designed as the basis of large-scale blockchain-driven business applications, with the characteristics of source code decentralization, point-to-point, irreversibility, and efficient autonomy. Huobi released Huobi Chain for the first time in July 2019, the code is open source, and the testnet was released in February 2020. As a “regulator-friendly financial blockchain”, Huobi Chain focuses on providing compliance services for companies and financial institutions. The CoinEx public chain officially completed the main online launch in November 2019 and completed the new block browser’s launch in March 2020. On April 3, 2020, CoinEx DEX uploaded the underlying code to Github to achieve open source. The CoinEx public chain is more inclined to build a full DEX ecosystem to achieve a one-stop solution for issuing, listing, storing, and trading. The long-term goal is to create a blockchain financial infrastructure.
3.2 Comparison of economic models
At present, the exchange is more inclined to use its existing platform currency as the native token of the public chain in the construction of public chain ecology. CoinEx’s CET, Binance’s BNB, and Huobi’s HT all fall into this category. OKEx is the only exchange that issues new tokens for its OKChain, which means OKT is the only ‘inflation token’ in the exchange’s public chain, while CET, HT, and BNB are all deflationary.
3.3 Decentralization of public chain
The initial number of CoinEx public chain verification nodes is 42, which is currently the most decentralized among all exchange public chains, and able to take both efficiency and decentralization into account; OKChain also currently has a relatively high degree of decentralization in the exchange public chain (21 verification nodes), its nodes have a high degree of autonomy; by contrast, Binance still firmly controls the operation of nodes and transactions; In terms of encourages cooperation between regulators and the private financial aspects, Huobi provides a lesser degree of decentralization. Huobi Chain uses a variant of the DPoS consensus algorithm to provide functions such as “supervision nodes”, allowing regulators to become validators. 4. Token Economy
CoinEx Token (CET) is a native token of the CoinEx ecosystem. It was issued in January 2018. Token holders can enjoy some user value-added services within the ecosystem. Currently, it is mainly used as a native token on the CoinEx Chain. As of 11 am on April 23, 2020, the current circulation of CET tokens in the market is 3,215,354,906.31, with a total of 5,842,177,609.53. CET tokens will not be further issued or inflated. Currently, daily repurchase and quarterly destruction are carried out. The repurchase destruction dynamics can now be tracked real-time on the CET repurchase system on the platform.
4.1 Token Distribution
The CET token used to be based on the ERC-20 token developed by Ethereum. Since the CoinEx Chain mainnet was launched in November 2019, some ERC-20 CET tokens have been mapped to the mainnet CET, and the rest of the CET will be mapped before November 10, 2020. CET holders need to deposit ERC-20 CET to the COinEX exchange, and the exchange will conduct the main network mapping. At present, CET is mainly circulated in the form of mainnet tokens, and only a small portion of ERC-20 CET has not been mapped. The distribution of token holdings currently circulating on the mainnet can be seen in the figure below. At present, the number of tokens held by the top ten holders accounts for about 60.44% of all mainnet CET tokens. Distribution of CET token holding addresses，Source: Etherscan; TokenInsight The following figure shows the initial distribution of tokens after the mainnet mapping preset by CoinEx. From the initial distribution map of CET, it shows that, after mapping, a large portion of CET remains concentrated in the hands of the team (31%), and the actual number of CET circulating in the market only accounts for 49% of the total. The initial distribution of CET token，Source: CoinEx; TokenInsight After the main net mapping, the 31% of the total CET (1.8 billion) held by the team will be gradually unlocked in the five years from 2020 to 2024, and 360 million CET will be unlocked each year. By 2024, the CET held by the team will be completely unlocked. From the current CET dynamics, the CET share held by some teams has been used for destruction purposes to achieve the purpose of CET austerity. If the frozen 1.8 billion CET held by the team are used for similar purposes, the development of CET and its platform can benefit from it. Team’s CET unlocking plan，Source: CoinEx; TokenInsight
4.2 Token economic model
4.2.1 Deflation mechanism Since the CET token went online in January 2018, CoinEx has increased the circulation of CET through airdrops, transaction fee refunds, operation promotion, and team unlocking. As one of the existing platform coins with long development time, the deflation mechanism of CET token has undergone a series of changes with the development of the industry. In 2018, when the concept of coin-based mining prevailed, CET used transaction mining, stake mining, and pending order mining, which were cancelled in October, December and, April respectively of the following year. The repurchase and destruction model currently used by CET was updated by CoinEx on April 11, 2020. The original CET quarterly repurchase and destruction policy of the platform will be adjusted to daily repurchase and quarterly destruction. After the implementation of the daily repurchase policy, CoinEx will take out 50% of the daily fee income for CET repurchase in the secondary market and implement quarterly destruction until the total remaining circulation is 3 billion (currently about 5.8 billion). At the same time that CoinEx updated the repurchase and destruction plan on April 11, the platform also launched a page dedicated to displaying CET repurchase information, so that users can clearly understand the progress of CET repurchase and destruction. As of April 23, 2020, the platform has destroyed 4,157,822,390.46 CET tokens, accounting for 41.6% of the initial total issuance. At the end of January 2019, it had destroyed 4 billion CETs (single destruction volume peak) at the end of this quarter. The number of CETs to be destroyed is 3,422,983.56. CET historical destruction data，Source: CoinEx; TokenInsight 4.2.2 Application scenarios The current usage scenarios of CET are discounted platform transaction fees, VIP services, special activities rights and interests, CoinEx Chain internal circulation fuel, and use of external scenarios. Deduction and discount of platform transaction fees CoinEx platform users can use CET to deduct transaction fees when conducting transactions within the platform. At the same time, using CET to pay transaction fees can enjoy the exclusive preferential rates provided by the platform. CET fee discount amount，Source：CoinEx; TokenInsight VIP service Holding a certain number of CETs can make a user become a platform VIP user. Users can also use CET to purchase platform VIPs to obtain corresponding privileges such as discounted rates, accelerated withdrawals, and exclusive customers. Special activity rights CET holders can enjoy special rights and interests in platform marketing activities, such as participating in the airdrop of tokens on the platform or accelerating opportunities for high-quality projects. CoinEx Chain built-in token CET will serve as a native token of CoinEx Chain, circulate and serve as fuel in CoinEx Chain, and users can also use CET to invest or trade other digital assets. In addition, CET can also serve as transaction fees and function fees (issuing Token, creating new trading pairs, account activation), etc. in the platform, and users can also participate in the campaign of validators by staking CET tokens. CET is currently used as a circulation token as well for CoinEx DEX to issue tokens, create orders, Bancor, address activation, set address aliases, and other application scenarios. In general, the types of application scenarios of CET are not plenty enough. In order to better develop the internal ecosystem of the platform, it is necessary to design and develop more CET usage scenarios and incentive mechanisms to increase the retention rate of users while adding new users. 4.2.3 Token incentive As the native token of the CoinEx public chain, CET will be used as a block incentive to increase community participation after the mainnet of the public chain launched. The 315 million CET held by the foundation in the total CET issuance will be used to incentivize initial verification nodes and Staking participants. CoinEx’s investment is led by Bitmain and its main partners include Matrixport, Bitcoin.com, CoinBull, Consensus Lab, BTC.com, BTC.top, Hoo Exchange, Wa Yi, ChainFor.com, etc. Investment institutions and major partners have rich experience in the industry, which can promote the development of projects to a certain extent. However, the current industry involved by the partners is not wide enough, and it will have a limited role in promoting the future of CoinEx’s enriching business lines and increasing ecosystem functions. https://preview.redd.it/zjgzvv6ise551.png?width=533&format=png&auto=webp&s=a3f7fe3abb2c2d522e289213ae6fbc4e899825e0
6. Community Analysis

I was using Tor and found Psychedelicsonline where I wanted to get a vial of LSD. Paid them using Ether and they sent me to Vario Express which contained a tracking number. After passing the delivery date, I contacted them and here is the email I got back from them:
Bought a small token ammount of bitcoin on uphold as a test (first purchase), and a couple days later bought a much larger chunck (relatively). The next day i got an email saying my account was suspended, and customer service has not responded in about 3 days. Any advice on how to proceed? I have already posted in the uphold official sub reddit and left one star rating on google play. Has not generated anything as of yet. Thanks for the help. If this is the wrong forum please let me know which forum to move this to. Thanks! Update: 4 days after recieving receiving notification that my account was suspended, i finally got a response asking me to confirm my identy (again) and provide more details about the card i used to conduct the transactions. I provided this to them and recieved a response about one day later that they could not offer me an account and would refund my money. Still have not recieved the refund. I am interested in how they will calculate the refund. Conclusion so far: would not use uphold due to the slow customer service. Additionally, if they suspend your account, you can no longer see any data related to your account, so ensure you take screenshots to have proof of what asstets you own in case you need it. I will also say i understand some of the additional scrutiny, as i am a US citizen living overseas, but due to my job status, everything is treated as if i was in the US. They collected enough of my personal where this should not have been a problem (this is one of the reasons i did not start with coinbase pro or Gemini - they won't verify my account because some of my data does not match i.e. my cell phone number is a non US number). Got to start looking for non kyc exchanges that are reliable. Was really hoping to avoid the higher fees. Update 2: finally got my funds returned, to include fees (except .10 cents).
36mm Ballon Bleu de Cartier Ronda Quartz w/White MOP Dial (V6 Factory) from Chazingtime
Hi Everyone! I'm so excited to post what everyone needs right now (j/k) : A watch review, and a very nice one at that! I've been on a serious Cartier jewelry kick for the past year or so and I've fallen in love with the Ballon Bleu. This is my second rep watch purchase (the first being a 31 mm Rolex DateJust w/a 2816 movement in 2015 that's still going great). Unfortunately I was a bit thirsty and being cheap during a DH Gate binge that I purchased what I thought was a decent one in December via DHL and got a complete shitter for $93! I took pics of it and immediately shipped it back via USPS Priority Mail International ($31) for a full refund ($126), which I received two weeks later. I totally forgot that I'm a longtime member of RWI and realized that I could have gotten a much better watch for only $100 more. I checked the Trusted Dealers (TD) list and saw that Chazingtime and PureTime had the watch I wanted, a Ronda Quartz, because I didn't want to get it serviced like my DateJust rep. I chose 36 mm size because I'm tall and wanted something bigger than my Rolex. It was a LONG and arduous process, but I'm glad to finally have it. Seller: Chazingtime Item: Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch, 36mm stainless steel bracelet with white mother-of-pearl (MOP) dial from V6 Factory. Price: $198 USD. Payment Method Used: Bank Wire. TD also accepts PayPal for established customers and WU. Price of Shipping: $35 to the USA. Order Timeline (I'm having a near-anxiety flashback just thinking about this):
1/11: Placed order. Initiated bank wire via my financial institution.
1/15: Wire received by seller's bank.
1/18: Payment acknowledged; order placed in "Processing" status, then...
RADIO SILENCE due to CNY then COVID-19 outbreak in China.
2/11: Ken from Chazingtime posted in RWI about factory delays and COVID-19 complications.
2/17: RWI and RepTime members post that V6 factory has reopened.
2/29:RepTime member posted that Chazingtime is back in business.
3/5: After not hearing anything from seller but seeing RepTime members post QC pics from the seller, I contacted him for an update. He sent QC pics immediately. I approved them.
3/7: Watch shipped via DHL through HK.
3/11: Watch received.
Seller Communication and Service-10/10 I tried to use PP but Ken immediately messaged to apologize and tell me that he only accepts it from established customers who have bought several watches from him. He gave me a really nice discount to use WU. I attempted to use it, but discovered that I'm banned from WU for some inexplicable reason (but I think it's because I have a federal security clearance for work, but I really believe that I've bought so many rep bags, hair extensions, and jewelry over the past dozen years that I got myself flagged). *face palm* I then messaged him to tell him that I was banned from using WU, so he immediately replied with his SWIFT code to have a wire transfer initiated, again with a nice discount for my trouble. I love how Ken was sooo responsive to my messages. I emailed him at 2:15 am EST and he replied immediately with the QC photos even though he was swamped with fulfilling new and established orders after the holiday and factory shutdown. I'd most definitely purchase from him again. Photos:
Mine. I also included a video to show how exquisite the MOP dial is! EDITED TO ADD ADDITIONAL PICS of watchAdditional pics .
Quality - 10/10 The watch is pretty well made. The Sapphire crystal glass is thick and is literally scratch proof. The blue cabochon crown is correct, easy to pull out and set the time, and the loop that surrounds it does not gap like other reps I've seen. The dial markings are clear, the CARTIER font is properly inked and spaced and, since it's quartz movement, there's no winding needed. I was really confused about the bracelet clasp; I had to watch YT videos until I got the hang of it! Accuracy - 10/10 This watch is EVERYTHING! It came fully branded and tagged, has a nice "heft" to it, and looks incredible. It has the exact markings as the authentic, and I wouldn't hesitate to wear it in a Cartier store. Unfortunately, there aren't many auth white MOP dials to compare this one to; however, I've seen a lot of pink MOP dials on Google. I actually prefer the pink MOP but the RWI guys say that the pink MOP reps aren't 100% to the authentic and are calloutable by those who know Cartier. I think the white MOP is called silver opaline, but I'm not 100% sure of it and I love this version. I've even scanned the QC and barcode that were attached to the bracelet and they took me to the leather band version on the Cartier website! Satisfaction - 10/10 Aside from waiting nearly two months for it, I'm beyond satisfied with this gem. I've also not taken it off; I've even showered and slept in i! I'm home-bound due to my workplace shutting down, so I've got to wear it somewhere! I could have easily have worn it as a dangle, but decided not to because of the dial size and weight; I didn't want to scratch or ding it. I took it to my non-judgmental (because he and his sons repair my rep Rolex without judgment) nonagenarian watchmaker in town and he removed one link and chided me to hold on to that link and charged me only $10. It now fits pretty snug on my 7.5 inch wrist but I actually prefer it this way. (I can fit one finger under the bracelet, so it's not too tight.) Lessons Learned: I know that I would have had a much better experience had I planned my purchase sooner and not wasted time with DH Gate. I also would have received my watch within the week had I been able to use WU or PP. The entire bank wire process really wore me out and extended the processing time. I learned from RWI and RepTime that some of the TDs' credit card processing software is prone to hacking and that Bitcoin or using TransferWise or Xoom are safer options for TDs who won't accept PP. Anyway, enjoy and let me know if you have any questions. 11/10 will recommend! :)
Noob question: What happens to dropped eth transactions?
OK, so I understand that this subreddit is called BitcoinCA but the rule says I can talk about other cryptos so here we go. I withdrew some eth from my exchange wallet to my wallet yesterday, and the transaction is showing as completed on the exchange's website. No eth in my wallet however. On etherscan, the transaction status is showing as dropped. What happens to my eth if I do nothing? Will it eventually come through? Or do I need to replace the transaction with a higher fee? (Contact the exchange and let them do it?) Thanks so much in advance and sorry for the noob question (I did conduct the search here and elsewhere but couldn't find a straightforward answer. Also, I don't have enough karma to post on Eth subreddit) EDIT: So, I contacted the broker and asked to redo the transaction with higher gas. They said they can't and just cancelled and refunded me the eth. OK whatever. I have been experiencing issues with this particular business so I closed my account today. Just now I checked my wallet and, guess what? That supposedly cancelled eth transfer was sitting in my wallet. I'm waiting for their reply as to where I should send that eth back. It's like a never-ending nightmare. But now I know that I should be more patient in the future. Also, pick the right company to buy crypto from!
IOTA funds were stolen (3.49Ti ~500k$) on 12th March 2020 after network relaunch [longread]
Hey CC comunity! First of all, sorry for posting it a bit late I have some serious changes in my lifestyle and business due to Coronavirus situation in the world. For those who are infected I wish to get well soon and all the rest to stay safe and to stay home. Here is my short story:On March 12th I made similar but short post regarding my stolen IOTA in the sub IOTA. First of all I met around 50% downvotes, I don’t know why but it seems that IOTA’s community don’t want to see posts regarding stolen IOTA, I got a lot of critics for using Trinity wallet instead of hardware and so on. But I see nothing strange using desktop wallet and it doesn’t matter whether it is IOTA Trinity or Bitcoin QT or Ethereum wallet unless in has strong manually typed password, VPN connection and some other security things. Or maybe IOTA’s community was afraid of unwanted bad attention during that market crash that day. So because of that experience I decided to make a post here at CC. Some short reminder of what happened before my funds got stolen (https://status.iota.org) Some news:https://www.coindesk.com/iota-foundation-suspends-network-probes-fund-theft-in-trinity-wallethttps://cointelegraph.com/news/iota-foundation-investigates-funds-allegedly-stolen-from-trinity-walletshttps://www.theblockcrypto.com/post/55955/iota-foundation-funds-stolen-users-of-trinity-wallet If you don’t want to read that news here are some facts with timestamp: February 12th 2020 - 18:55 As a precaution we ask you to keep your Trinity wallet closed for now. February 12th 2020 - 19:20 After initial investigation we decided to turn off the Coordinator to make sure no further theft can occur until we find out the root cause of these thefts. (Lets say: “blockchain stopped”) February 14th 2020 - 17:50 We have found the exploit. February 15th 2020 - 00:50 After successfully identifying the attack on Trinity through a third-party integration February 17th 2020 - 02:23 We have just released a safe version of Trinity Desktop to allow users to check their balance and transactions. This version (1.4.1) removes the vulnerability announced on 12th February 2020. (I’ve installed this particular version) February 21st 2020 - 18:43 ACTION MAY BE REQUIRED TO PROTECT YOUR TOKENS IN TRINITY. February 24th I left my country for some working trip February 26th 2020 - 13:10 We are currently in the testing phase of the migration tools, once testing completes the tools will be audited by a external party. If this all goes well we are aiming to release these tools later this week. February 29th 2020 - 19:15 The Seed Migration Tool is now available. March 6th 2020 - 15:17 REMINDER: You have until 5PM (UTC), Saturday, 7th March to migrate your seed. I’m still out of the country but I’m pretty sure I’m safe coz I’ve installed 1.4.1 wallet which removes the vulnerability. March 8th 2020 - 18:15 The migration period has ended. I got back to my country March 10th 2020 - 16:45 We are aiming to resume value transactions around 5PM CET today. March 10th 2020 - 18:15 The network coordinator has resumed operation. (Let’s say “blockchain restarted”) Now my turn: My balance by that time (https://imgur.com/EJiB6it) March 10th I’ve decided to send my IOTA to exchange until I buy Hardware wallet and sort it out how it worksTest transaction to exchange 5Gi:JQ9DZPGUFLBJTLDLIKQBWLUBOXJULKIQFSWKNYVFIHETSZJOTGRYEZZELE9BZFVUEBGATEITPDTXXHZVD It took exchange 24 hours to credit it to my balance… March 11thFirst large transaction to the exchange (~23% of my net holdings of IOTA) 1Ti9YGGTHDKARCBVEPWUYURYEAKSKUNITGCGKSCJRXBVKHLBHEXXTNAWOFNPOBGHG9IKCZRABFNBJHVWNZIZ All over again… 24h to credit it to my balance. March 12th I’ve opened my Trinity wallet and found out that money were stolen 3.4TiPOUBLIDSDZSNLKYBHVDAAEGVKGZ9PGKCBKRGUKEKIUQGSEWZNBQCHLLKIAZKEYHJVGJD9GYHT9JJNY9VW screenshot of transaction with stolen IOTA (https://imgur.com/DtXbjOs) All performed transactions (https://imgur.com/M8Qj2jC) Same day I’ve made first post on reddit to get some attention to the happened situation. At the same time I’ve start to search for some technical support through over official telegram groups: iotatangle (https://imgur.com/McmrF3L)I’ve send a message where I’ve stated that my funds were stolen after network relaunch. Got some response from user Basti he invited me to another group with general discussion.screen shot 1 (https://imgur.com/hvDuoQA)screen shot 2 (https://imgur.com/MewdNm5) Our short dialogue continued at the general discussion group iotacafe (https://imgur.com/e9ErcPW) Where Basti introduced me to the IOTA Foundation member Antonio Nardella (https://imgur.com/WxZRk8N) Before I started my conversation with Antonio I decide to get some information about him. I’ve found a Medium post with some welcoming words to Antonio Nardella. (https://imgur.com/KK4zoOv) telegram(https://imgur.com/VquNCpi) medium Seems legit. Of course I couldn't be 100% sure it was him but the information he asked for wasn’t really sensitive so decided to share all I knew and all I did. (https://imgur.com/X3Ha02Q) He also mentioned a wallet integrated service MoonPay, whether I used the wallet with this service or not and it didn’t matter if I used the service it self. I’ve informed him that I used 1.4.1 wallet which was recommended to install on February 17th 2020(https://imgur.com/iZdNcm7) When he gathered all the necessary information regarding loss of funds he took the time for sending this information for investigation team. After a long awaited answer I got the same day this: “Hello, I was informed that the loss of tokens is associated to the person/team responsible for the Trinity wallet attack via a third-party dependency from Moonpay. As suggested on https://status.iota.org/, please file a report with the local police and to cite the following case number when doing so: LKA Berlin, Center for Cybercrime, case number: 200213-1717-i00290.”(https://imgur.com/Gov1v0i) So, reinstalling the wallet didn't help me to avoid the loss of funds. Well if my funds are proved to be stolen then it means - yes, I’ve used the Trinity wallet between the December 17th 2019 and the February 17th 2020. And yes, I wasn’t able to make seed transition during the given period. I was out of the country starting form Feb 24th till March 8th. I can even proove it with my border passing stamps… You know I didn’t use to take 4.5Ti with me just in case I would need an urgent seed transition. Could you imagine thousands of people with their multimillion Bitcoin holdings carrying private keys everyday with them just in case they would need seed transition… The funds were stolen not by my mistake but IOTA developers/foundation/etc (lets say IOTA team) mistake. At the end of my story I want to take your attention to the fact that I didn’t compromise my PC neither wallet nor password nor seed. All my fault was for using the desktop wallet… How can you imagine your user without using your software/services/etc… I want to publicly call IOTA team (especially mr David Sonstebo) to cover not only those which were to happen back in the Feb 2020 but all the loses which were caused by that wallet vulnerability. Crowdfunding changed the landscape of raising funds forever. But with time, we have learned its inefficiencies. Mainly, having a middle man, high fees and lack of backer protection. Existing crowdfunding platforms mostly operate on a dozen or so countries. And only benefits those with bank accounts, excluding not only the international community, but also the unbanked. With the advent of blockchain technology, we can now rely on superior technology for crowdfunding that not only serves the fundraisers but also the donors. Creating more trust through transparency and accountability. Why is blockchain necessary for crowdfunding? Blockchain ushered in the age of trustless digital domain, whereby you do not need to trust each other or a third party authority to transact or transfer, whether its data or something of value. This has brought tremendous value for the digital world, and for the first time, we have created tamper-evident transparency. Ethereum smart contracts or in other words ‘executable program’ allow for a predefined set of criteria to be programmed within each contract which then acts as the enforcer. This ensures that fundraisers only get donations when a certain milestone has been reached. As a result, bringing more accountability and backer protection in the space. That’s why we created Ullu. Ullu is being built on the Ethereum Network and will use smart contracts to manage and enforce the criteria for each donation. Building on a decentralized network means Ullu doesn’t have to rely on any platform to enable creators to raise funds. A first of its kind crowdfunding platform that harnesses the power of blockchain to establish digital trust. Smart contract is a protocol intended to digitally facilitate, verify or enforce the negotiation or performance of a contract. This eliminates the need for a third-party facilitator. Smart contracts can only be fulfilled after the execution of a preceding step. This ensures that the donor only pays when predetermined milestones have been accomplished. On our platform, money can be tracked, individuals and organizations can be held accountable, optimizing the social impact of donations worldwide. We empower donors to track the impact of their money, by leveraging the speed and reach of cryptocurrency and the security of blockchain, we are creating a global ‘giving’ community that is not only data friendly and scalable but also aids the unbanked and geographically excluded. Ullu will have a voting system that allows participants to vote for crowdfunding campaigns, and to ensure donor satisfaction, if most of the participants feel that a certain campaign is not reaching milestones, they will be refunded. No longer will you be excluded from centralized platforms because you don’t have access to a bank account, or are in a sanctioned and left out country. On Ullu, you can create campaigns from anywhere in the world, and receive donations from a number of cryptocurrencies Ullu platform supports. Ullu will carefully screen every campaign and verify the ones that meet our standards. Fundraisers will also have the option of importing campaigns manually. Ullu platform will be powered by an ERC-20 Token to facilitate smoother operations and better utility. Users can earn Ullu through Ullu app, through donations or from their own campaigns. Donors will enjoy 0 fees when donating with Ullu’s native token, helping fundraisers get every dollar they are donated and reduce their cost. This also helps fundraisers use the money otherwise paid to banking and platform fees towards their project goals instead. Earned Ullu’s can be traded on exchanges or be used for future donations as well. In the wake of the global pandemic, timing is vital and while individual contributions to organizations or ordinary direct giving stand as the current status quo, there is an immense opportunity to transform the global giving community with Blockchain technology. Ullu is driven by passion to make a tangible impact for a better way to give globally, securely and transparently. This technology transforms the direct giving world in a big way and also has the potential to change how NGOs, nonprofits and other organizations receive, track and use donations. Here is an article by an author named Adnan about why Get Ticketing will explode: https://medium.com/@adnanzzz/the-bullish-case-of-get-protocol-451ad6059f2d Below is the same article copied and pasted for those who are too lazy to click the link. However, I recommend reading the article from the link instead as it has a lot of graphs, links, and pictures that gives a much fuller picture.
"GET protocol — the sleeping blockchain giant Bear with me as I try to explain why the GET token is currently the most bullish crypto token in the space. The price surge will be driven by adoption and not just mere speculation. And adoption is already there but will only now start to gain huge momentum! By the time you have read this blog you will come to see how most other crypto projects lose value in your eyes when you compare it to a project with amazing fundamentals, a project that doesn’t need an “altseason”, driven by mere mindless speculation, to give you nice returns! Most people in the crypto space have never heard of the GET protocol. This is on one side suprising because there are 191.329 wallet holders to be exact. This means that 191.329 people have used the GET protocol, mostly without even knowing it! The focus has always been on building a product that works and where there is demand for. Where other projects have focused and spent their funds on marketing in the crypto space (meaning luring in new investors) GET has neglected that part a bit. Instead they focused their funds on building a waterproof system and acquiring clients who will use the protocol (venues, artists, governments, …). The effect of this is that the price hasn’t been affected by speculation. The list of artists who use GET-fueled tickets is endless and I have honestly lost sight of everyone who uses it. But to give you an example of adoption, here is a list of some of the artists who sell GET-fueled tickets:
Amsterdam Dance Event
Youp Van ‘t Hek
What is the GET protocol and what does it do? The GET Protocol offers a blockchain-based smart ticketing solution that can be used by everybody who needs to issue admission tickets in an honest and transparent way. The goal of GET protocol is to become the worldwide ticketing standard. To put it in simple terms: the ticketing industry is plagued by dishonest players. Not only ticket fraud but also scalping are an enormous problem in the industry. Once a ticket sale starts bots buy up the tickets and later sell them for enormous profits. Fans are sidelined and are forced to buy tickets of their idols for a much higher price. The scalpers, not adding any value in the process, make tons of money at the expense of artists, fans, venues, event organizers, … and everybody who makes the event industry what it is.
This is where GET offers a solution proven to work The tickets issued on the GET protocol are registered on your phone. This means that only the person in possession of the phone also owns the ticket. Every ticket is unique and is based on a QR code that updates itself and rotates to prevent fraud and scalping. The tickets are all registered on the blockchain as a mean of transparency and accountability. This means that fans can check ticket authenticity whenever they want. This is also where the GET token comes in play but more on that later…
GET is currently the best adopted microcap This is a bold statement but it’s not difficult to prove. Whereas other crypto “companies” confuse their investors with a lot of technical words that the average Joe doesn’t even understand and show off with meaningless partnerships, GET is actually changing the ticketing world for the better! At the moment of writing there are 4 ticketing companies that are completely integrated in the GET protocol, and together have sold many GET-fueled tickets! These companies currently run on the GET protocol:
GUTS Runs fully on the GET protocol and has sold over 400.000 tickets.
ITIX Established in 2009 and sells 2 million tickets/year. Is fully integrated in the GET protocol and will start selling GET-fueled tickets soon.
getTicket A new ticketing company in South Korea that will run fully on the GET protocol.
TecTix A Germany based ticketing company that will sell GET fueled tickets with a focus on the sports industry.
Integrating an existing ticketing company is a low investment move (only the GET token is needed) that offers traditional ticketing companies several benefits. That is why I expect many ticketing companies to integrate and GET to scale quickly.
The supply Some people are scared by the big difference in the circulating supply and the total supply. This is an unneccessary fear. The GET supply is made up of 3 portions:
Circulating supply (13.5 million)
Stability Fund (12,6 million): these tokens can never enter the circulating supply. They are used to supply the ticketing companies with GET so they don’t have to buy them directly from the market. The stability fund then buys these supplied tokens from the market to fill itself up. As the protocol shifts to open source the stability fund (together with all the tokens it holds) will be destroyed forever.
User Growth Fund (7,24 million): these tokens are used for discounts to new clients. These tokens should also in principle not enter the circulating supply. Only for marketing purposes and possible exchange listing costs a small portion of these might be liquidated.
This means that the circulating supply as it is now can only, ever, lightly increase for the purpose of growth. With the buybacks and burns being large enough the circulating supply will instead keep decreasing at a swift tempo.
GET in times of COVID19 In May Dutch group Di-Rect sold thousands of tickets for an online concert. They used GET’s technology to use a dynamic price setting. This means that fans were given the option to pay whatever they wanted for a ticket. Whoever paid €20 or more had the chance to win a lottery and be present at the concert. Once the concert starts, whoever bought a ticket, will be able to watch the streamed concert on GUTS’ app. This is yet another proof of the advantages a digital ticket offers. As this was a big succes, the expectation is that more and more artists will make use of GET’s technology. On 27/05 Dennis van Aarssen, The Voice Of Holland 2019 winner, announced that he will also do a livestreamed performance of classic covers and original music on June 7th. All tickets will be issued through the GET protocol. GET also offers several advantages in different areas in the fights against COVID19. The right of access being linked to your mobile makes it possible for potential clients to monitor the number of visitors in real time all the time, to apply an automated seating selection which consideres an appropriate distance between all visitors, queue control, booking of timeslots for museums, shops, parks, beaches, … so overcrowding can be avoided. When an event gets cancelled, whereas with paper tickets it’s sometimes impossible to track who owns the ticket at the current time, with GET’s technology the event organizer can, with one click, choose to make a refund to the current ticket owner, to communicate with him, to postpone the event, …
What more to expect in the (near) future? There are so many amazing things to come in the very near future so I’ll only focus on a few of them:
Integration with Klaytn
GET-fueled tickets for K-pop
Top tier exchange listing

GET as an open-source protocol
Integration in Klaytn
Seeing the adoption the GET protocol has, the solution they bring and the enormous potential they have in conquering the ticketing industry, they have been asked by Kakao to join their blockchain “Klaytn”. So GET is an initial service partner of the Klaytn blockchain. “Kakao’s global public blockchain project Klaytn is an enterprise-grade, service-centric platform that brings user-friendly blockchain experience to millions.” The choice for choosing to be an Initial Service Provider of Klaytn is based on two aspects. The first aspect is the fact that Klaytn’s blockchain infrastructure is fully business and integration focused, more than any other blockchain in the market. This results in huge improvements in areas as cost-efficiency, scalability, and data reliability. The second aspect is fueled by the potential of being part of the Klaytn ecosystem. Kakao is a giant in South Korea. GET will bring its adoption to Kakao’s blockchain and Kakao, with its giant network, in return will open many doors in South Korea. A win-win for everyone involved! In 2017 Kakao had more than 220 millions users on their messaging and content platform. The last few years the company has been rapidly expanding in other industry verticals.
GET fueled tickets sold for K-pop stars As mentioned earlier: South Korean ticketing company getTicket will run fully on the GET protocol. They have already deals in line to sell tickets for K-pop stars in their country. K-pop legend Mr. Won-Kwan Jung, as someone who has a lot of connections in the K-pop world, has joined the GET protocol as an advisor. He is an iconic figure and innovator in the world of K-Pop, owing to the fact that he was one of the three original members of SoBangCha, (or ‘Firetruck’ in English) which is regarded as the first K-Pop group to exist in the world. In a survey conducted in 17 countries in 2019, around 37.5 percent of respondents stated that the genre K-pop was “very popular” in their country. The survey found that the popularity of K-pop reaches far beyond South Korean borders. The fact that their idols will be selling GET-fueled tickets hasn’t reached the Korean audience yet. It is still a “public secret”. The news will be released in a directed marketing campaign later this year. You better believe that once the Koreans find out that they’ll be buying GET like hot cupcakes!
Tickets for museums and beaches to be in line with COVID19 restriction measures With the Corona virus still not wiped out but more under control, many countries are lifting restrictions. This needs to be done in a safe and controlled manner. This means avoiding overcrowding. GET’s technology can and will surely help here. GET’s system can do all that is needed now for a safe experience. Whether it’s booking a timeslot for the beach, for a museum,… or even for a shop from your home. The system lets the client monitor everything in real time. Someone can that way for example choose to go when there is less crowd. This all while fully respecting the user’s privacy. The GET sales team has been busier than ever, being in contact with governments, museums, … and the dev team is constantly creating custom made smart ticketing solutions for new costumers. I’m sure we can expect some major announcements in this area soon!
Top tier exchange listings & marketing in the crypto space The team has confirmed that listing on a top tier exchange has already been agreed. They’re just waiting for the right time to announce it, fitting in their marketing campaign. Besides that, a fiat on ramp exchange will list GET in a short timeframe. Many projects invested most of their funds in exchange listings and fake volume, creating artifical demand. These exchange listings are almost always accompanied by paying for a market maker. Once the funds dry up (and we have seen this with many projects) delisting becomes a reality and the funds end up being spent in vain. GET’s exchange listing and marketing campaign aren’t a means to pump the price but have the goal of creating liquidity for the end users (mainly ticketing companies) who will need to acquire a lot of GET from the open market in the short future.
Expansion in several other countries GET’s business developer Sander: "I am reached out by ticketing parties all around the world on a daily basis. The main challenge is to vet these parties. The goal of GET Protocol is to be the worldwide standard of digital admission rights and to get there we need to stay extremely lean and flexible in order to scale well. In that sense we need to be 100% convinced the parties we partner up in this phase have a very high potential of becoming a big player in their respective geographies. From the onboardings we currently experience, we learn to speed up onboarding processes upcoming year." And when asked how many tickets he expects to be sold in the near future and how many ticketing companies he expects to run on the GET protocol in 5 years time: "Along the journey, we here at GET and GUTS learned quite a few things. One of them is avoiding to publicly announce ticket sale estimates as the chances are that we shoot ourselves in the foot with that. If we don’t meet our estimates, life sucks and the community will let us know which is fine and rightful, but to be honest for GET nothing to win. If we meet our goal, it is okay but even then some people members manage to say they hoped for even better. In that sense, whatever we do, we can’t do well enough on that front, so I am reluctant about giving specific numbers (and I don’t have a crystal sphere either!). That being said, regarding the amount of ticketing companies in 2025, I expect many, in many countries. It’s a matter of time that we can easier offer our products in a whitelabeled manner. Only this week we got requests for more information about our services from Germany, Paraguay, Mexico, UK and Italy and Australia. This certainly doesn’t always mean a ticketing company could lead out of such a request, but the interest is certainly there. If we keep on doing what we do now, I believe we can boost ticketeers and event organizers around the world pretty soon and let them issue fully digital and blockchain registered tickets, all processed by GET Protocol. If more ticketing companies are onboarded, the amount of ticket sales processed by the protocol will grow exponentially." Knowing how GET’s team has always been very careful with their promises, I take such statements very seriously. If the past has taught me anything: they’re probably making an understatement. So expect GET to spread its wings in many regions around the world and take the ticketing world by a storm!
Staking & nodes GET’s blockchain developer Kasper Keunen has announced that a staking model is being developed. This means that you’ll be able to stake your GET. In return a portion of the ticketing fee will be rewarded to those stakers and nodes. So see it as a passive income. You sit down, relax and see it grow exponentionally as GET conquers the ticketing world :)
The end goal is to be an open source protocol The endgoal of the GET protocol is to become open source. There will be a governance model where changes to the protocol will be determined by GET token holders. That’s why I expect ticketing companies to acquire a lot of GET in time as their revenue relies on the direction of the protocol. GET will have a role as governance for the project as a whole. Such a role for the token is the most natural in a fully open-sourced environment of the protocol(currently not the case, yet). As then governance by stakeholders (ticketing companies) with a serious stake in the game as their ticketing revenue relies on the direction/quality of the code to be on point. As of yet, we do not really assign too much fundamental value to this role for the token (we barely mentioned it actually) as it is still a bit early for it to have serious merit. So pushing that value of the token now would be a bit false advertising. As we onboard more and more ticketing companies we will develop the governance of the token role more and more!
Why the GET token is set to explode Now that I’ve covered what the GET protocol is and where it’s going, it’s time to dig deeper in the token. And I have to say that I’ve never been more bullish on anything in my life. This for the simple reason that usage will drive the price to insanely high levels (where speculation isn’t even needed).
Tokenomics As mentioned above: to have full transparency and accountability (both missing links to make the ticket industry fraud- and scalpfree) all tickets sold are registered on blockchain. You can compare GET to a gas that is needed to fuel the protocol (every state change of the ticket needs to be registered — for which GET is needed). So for every ticket sold GET is bought back from the open market and burned forever.
A single state change cost €0,07 in Q1 2020
There are minimum 4 state changes per ticket
This means that a minimum of €0,28 worth of GET is needed for every ticket sold
In Q1 of 2020 107 059 GET were burned (proof of burn: ");
It is projected that at least 50% of all GET will be burned by 2022
At the moment of writing €161.944 worth of GET have been bought from the exchanges and burned forever (all triggered by adoption and ticketing companies needing the token).
GET’s valuation in the (near) future Bear in mind that this is my own expectation, based on big changes in supply and demand that I will try to explain below. Also keep in mind that I’m not a financial advisor and nothing is guaranteed in the crypto space! But I will try to explain why I personally believe that GET will be trading at 10€ per token and more in the near future. As time goes on and more tickets are sold, the demand for GET will keep increasing while the supply will keep decreasing. You don’t need to have a PhD in economics to understand what this will do to the price!
What kind of demand/buybacks can we expect? As explained above: for every ticket sold at least €0,28 worth of GET is needed by the ticketing companies. Most of this GET is bought back from the exchanges (the money to do this is included in the ticket fee). Some GET is supplied by the “user growth fund”. This is a fund created to give potential new customers a discount. This is done by subsidizing them a portion of their need for GET so these new customers don’t need to pay the full price immediately. Bear in mind that as time goes by this fund will dry up and all the GET that is needed will from that moment on be bought from the exchanges. Since the buybacks are based on the amount of tickets issued by the protocol, to calculate what kind of buybacks we can expect in the future we need to look at the ticket sales. As mentioned before there are 4 ticketing companies using the protocol right now (GUTS, ITIX, TecTix and getTicket). Below I will make an estimation of what to expect from them. GUTS has sold over 400k tickets. From just the deals already signed, over a million tickets would have been sold in 2020. Due to Covid19 most events had to be posponed (not cancelled). In the meanwhile the GUTS sales team hasn’t been idle and has atracted many more customers. This means that the 1 million tickets number is probably even on the low side. But let’s say a minimum of 1 million tickets will be sold the first year where all events will be allowed again. This means that at least €280.000 worth of GET will be needed in that year. ITIX sells 2 million tickets a year on average. Once fully integrated they will thus need at least €560.000 worth of GET on a yearly basis. TecTix, as a new ticketing company, it’s hard to predict what kind of numbers they’ll be running at the start. But given the expertise of the TecTix team I think 200.000 tickets is a safe bet to start with. That would put us on at last €56.000 worth of GET needed/year. And finally getTicket, a ticketing company based in South Korea. In their case it’s also difficult to make a prediction because they’re new and we have no previous data to rely on. But judging from the comments made by the team that “everything is bigger in Korea” and that they’ll be selling stadium concerts for K-pop stars (just one concerts can mean over 100.000 tickets sold) I think it’s safe to say that they’ll be selling at least 1 million tickets/year. That would bring their need for GET to at least €280.000 a year. So if we put this together the 4 ticketing companies will need over € 1 million worth of GET on a yearly basis. Bear in mind that more ticketing companies will keep joining and the existing ticketing companies will keep growing, taking away marketshare from ticketing companies that can’t offer all of the advantages mentioned before. Based on all of this I, pesonally, would say that €5 million/year in GET buybacks by 2023 is not an unreasonable prediction.
What can we expect from GET’s supply? Demand for a token means nothing if the supply is unlimited. The best example of the importance of the supply is the recent Bitcoin halvening that got everyone excited. Before the halvening around 1800 BTC were mined every day. Let’s say that at current prices this was around $16 million worth of BTC per day. The miners obviously have to sell a large portion of this to cover their costs. So even if there are no other sellers, a large number of BTC has to be bought from the market every day just to keep status quo of the current price. Halvening basically means that the speed at which the supply increases will be halved (900 BTC mined on a daily basis instead of 1800). The supply of BTC will still continue to increase, only at a slower tempo. Scarcity should be the ultimate goal when investing in utility tokens. With GET’s utility token things are different: every GET bought by a ticketing company will be burned. Contrary to BTC the supply of GET will thus continue to decrease as time goes on, removing the stacks of those eager to sell. This is not a dig at Bitcoin by the way as I’m a fan. Just highlighting the advantage an adopted utility token with good tokenomics has over “the king”. I hope you now understand my expectation that the price will explode. Many holders will obviously not be willing to sell at current prices with such an increasing demand. As the price is determined by many factors and we don’t know what the price will do exactly, it’s not possible to pin down the exact supply in the future. We do know that it will keep decreasing at a swift tempo unless the price goes parabolic.
Finding the equilibrum for the price The demand for GET will keep increasing through adoption and the supply decreasing as the used GET are destroyed forever The equilibrium price and equilibrium quantity occur where the supply and demand curves cross. The equilibrium occurs where the quantity demanded is equal to the quantity supplied. If the demand increases and the supply decreases then the price will rise until it finds a new equilibrium. Putting a correct marketcap valuation on a crypto project is an extremely difficult task. With traditional companies we can for example rely on the revenue, profit, dividend payments, … to estimate what the company is/should be worth. In most countries a 5% rental yield is considered a good investment. Of course it’s not fully comparable as these buybacks don’t automatically put money on your account. But they do increase the price and destroy the supply. So I think it’s in a way reasonable to extrapolate this 5% yield to our case. Having explained why I expect atleast €5 million in yearly buybacks by 2023, that would mean the marketcap should be around €100 million (5% = the buyback of €5 million multiplied by 20). The current circulating supply of GET is around 13,5 million. The expectation is that the burning mechanism will destroy more than half of that by 2023 (this takes into account an increasing price of the GET token). So let’s round it up to 5 million GET remaining. A marketcap of €100 million with a supply of 5 million GET would mean a price of €20/GET. This would be an increase of 6566.67%. Of course these numbers are not set in stone and merely a prediction but if you’ve been reading this blog you have come to understand why I am extremely bullish on the GET token. I have completely taken the speculation factor or an “altseason” or “fomo” out of the equation and only focused on a price increase driven by an increasing demand and decreasing supply! So the focus is on an organic price growth. Another great thing about holding a token with mass adoption and guaranteed buybacks is that I don’t have to worry about the price. As the buybacks are a guaranteed thing, the lower the price of GET the more GET is bought back and destroyed forever. So even a price decrease, as contradictory as it may sound, is bullish for longterm holders!
The offshore broker 10CFDS is situated in Belize. It provides many trading instruments, consist of more than forty FX pairs and binary CFDs. The leverage is up to 1:200 and is provided on a web-based trading terminal. However, it's regulatory and license status is not at all promising. If any of you are willing to trade with it, make sure to read this 10CFDS review first.
The broker 10CFDS provides all sorts of trading instruments. It involves forty-six FX pairs viz SD/HKD, USD/MXN, USD/CZK, USD/RUB, USD/SEK, USD/NOK, USD/SGD, USD/PLN, USD/ZAR, USD/TRY, and USD/DKK. It also provides CFDs on natural resources, the farm produces, twenty-four indexes, shares, and cryptocurrencies. The leverage offered by this broker is 1:200. Many Markets Authority has decided to allow the maximum leverage of 1:30. The broker's offerings miss on the regulator’s directives. The payment can be made by cards, wire transfer, PaySafeCard, Neteller, Skrill, and Western Union. Unfortunately, the broker does not accept payment via bitcoins. To start trading with 10CFDS traders are required to deposit $250 only. This requirement is acceptable but several regulated brokers in the market accept very low initial deposits. The SPEED SOLUTIONS Ltd is the owner of the 10CFDS trademark and is registered in Belize. The firm claims to be regulated by the local International Financial Services Commission. The client's payments are processed by the Estonian firm named SPEED PAYMENTS OU. The IFSC does not require strict prerequisites to offer regulation. It also loosely oversees such brokers. Hence there is no guarantee for the safety of funds. All reputed regulators have banned controversial trading bonuses but the broker under consideration offers several bonuses. These bonuses are merged with uncontrolled trading practices such as the requirement of the specified trading volume. If these conditions are not fulfilled, the broker can cancel your trading account, locking invested funds. Furthermore, the withdrawal process at 10CFDS may take up to 21 working days to be processed. This time frame is lengthy. Also, the withdrawal is charged with a 3.5% service fee, $ 1.5 is charged as a profit clearance fee, and an additional $ 20 is applicable as a monthly maintenance fee. A regulated broker does not have such practices. The provided spread of 3 pips can be seen on EURUSD FX pair while checking the web-based trading platform. This spread is high and attractive but it raises the cost of trading. For higher profit, tighter spreads are anticipated. The broker claims to offer to trade on the MT platform but in reality, it offers some web-based platform.
Is 10CFDS scam or legit?
The above discussion indicates several flaws of this broker. The regulation of this broker does not cover investment refunds. The broker is also offshore. We are convinced that the broker is hazardous to the trader's fund and can be a forex scam broker. Staying away from this broker is advised.
Still waiting on a support response for this but, recently I bought a sum (about 50 euros worth) of BTC on the site as a noob not necessarily knowing what I was doing but going to use it for a purchase online. so needless to say after waiting almost a day for my paypal transaction to go through to the guy I purchased from gave me my btc. The problem is that when I got the btc and when to go send it for the purchase through my wallet it kept giving me an alert that i was trying to send too much. and after investigating i noticed that it said You can send up to: 0 BTC on top of the Please update your verification status to enable outgoing transactions. so after countless hours of sending in my license, credit card statements... and practically social security number to get to tier 2 not knowing I didn't need to to do so I still am unable to send outgoing transactions and it still gives me the same alert wanting me to upgrade to tier 3 somehow even though ill never own or see 100,000 volume to do so in my life. literally only have 35 dollars worth of bitcoins anyways but id just like a refund of that or at least be able to transfer it to a different site. honestly this website gets so much praise on the surface, but the more I dig the more I find the hassle it takes to use the site. I Got Scammed by the Cryptocurrency Exchange EZBTC.CA
I wanted to make this post of my experience as a warning to others, especially Canadians as they have limited buying options when investing (speculating) into cryptocurrencies. I understand the subject of cryptocurrencies are polarizing to many, but nonetheless, it's an emerging asset class that deserves discussion because there are many ways to lose your funds. This isn't the fault of cryptocurrencies themselves, but the result of user error, outright scams, social engineering, hacks, or in my case not being up-to-date on current events. There are many scams in cryptocurrencies, but shady exchanges are a classic dating back to the legendary Mt. Gox hack where 850,000 Bitcoins were stolen (worth approximately $4.6 billion at the time of this writing). Or the most recent Canadian QuadrigaCX exchange hack where the CEO allegedly died in India carrying the only private key to 200 million worth of customer funds. It seems that exchange hacks keep propping up in the news, so why then do they keep happening even in 2019? Because users are left with limited choices if they want to acquire cryptocurrency in the safest (ironic) and most convenient manner. In order to buy cryptocurrency, you first have to exchange it for fiat currency (USD, CAD, EUR). You could buy cryptocurrency from one of those Bitcoin ATMs you see at the mall but the fees are exorbitant and quite a few require ID as it is, so why not just sign up for an exchange instead? The next option is to buy them peer-to-peer in person for cash, but people feel unsafe dealing with strangers and large amounts of money. Further, liquidity would be an issue. This led to a boom of many cryptocurrency exchanges offering customers a place to buy and sell with the exchanges acting as the middle-man between users. I've been away from cryptocurrency for a while and only came back recently. I've used the EZBTC exchange in the past without issues and decided I would use them again. What I didn't do upon my return was my homework on any updates/news regarding this exchange which resulted in my ordeal now. I noticed the website had an overhaul that now includes an express option for you to receive faster withdrawals if you deposited larger amounts (first red flag). I opted for the regular option I always used in the past and sent a small amount via eTransfer that was deposited in my account almost immediately (second red flag). In the past, my eTransfers regardless of amount took some time and up to many hours. Nonetheless, I made a purchase and initiated a withdrawal request that still hasn't been sent out to this day, and I am not the only one. A condensed version of my story is that I got worried about my pending withdrawal with
