GUIminer Mining Guide and Others Ways to Mine Bitcoin in 2019
How To Get Started Mining Bitcoins - Bitcoin Miner - I
[Update]: Fug, I was hacked.
The result of my malware scan, in particular the lines below, was very interesting. Obviously I can't tell if MalwareBytes is correct in flagging these. Some of them indicated "PUP.BitcoinMiner" which seems valid but others were marked as "Trojan.BitMiner.TS" or "PUP.Proxy.BCM" ... those may very well be valid downloads but I do know that MalwareBytes did not indicate ALL of the Bitcoin miners I had downloaded... http://www.reddit.com/Bitcoin/comments/1xe2t7/fug_looks_like_i_was_hacked_can_anyone_confirmhelp/ M:\Bitcoin\guiminer-scrypt_win32_binaries_v0.03.zip (PUP.BitCoinMiner) -> No action taken. Continuum pool is recommended over deepbit, read this post to use that instead. Instructions are virtually the same. https://deepbit.net/ Sign up for an account. Choose proportional mode. Download this and this and this. First one you just extract. Second one is your mining program. Third one is your wallet where you keep track of all your bitcoins. So you have a deepbit account, right? Well anyways after everything is extracted and installed open up your bitcoin.exe. There is a long string of text near the top in a box. That is your address. That is how you get paid and pay others. Copy that and then goto your account and paste it into the "Your bitcoin address for receiving rewards" box. Save settings. Now go back to your account and click create worker. Set the worker's login tail to 0 and the password to anything you will remember. Leave payout as proportional and click save settings. Open up GuiMiner. File>new other miner and navigate to where you extracted that third link(the one with 4 .exes). Select rpcminer-cuda.exe for your new other miner. Name it CUDA. In the guiminer tab for this new miner(the CUDA tab) set the server to other. Host: pit.deepbit.net Port: 8332 Username: [email protected]_0you must add the _0 Password: The password of your created worker Extra flags: Only needed for more than 1 graphics card, if this is true, read part 2 Go into guiminer and do file > save settings. Now click start mining. The number of MHash/s is completely dependent on your graphics card's power. I have 2 cards that get about 30 MH/s each. To check your mined coins go here. Okay, so now just a bit of explaining. Your deepbit account is merely a holding place for your coins. To actually spend them you need to payout to your address. To do this goto your account and click the Payment link. You can only pay out if you have over 0.01 BTC. When you pay out it will appear in your bitcoin.exe, it takes a while the first time and every payment after that it is near instantaneous. Once it is in your bitcoin.exe congratulations, you now have bitcoins to spend. To spend them you just get the address of the person who you are sending them to then click the send button on bitcoin.exe, put in their address and the amount. Also, goto C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin (if you're on windows7) and backup your wallet.dat file. That is your wallet. It has all of your money. Don't delete it. Part 2, multiple graphics cards. I have 2 graphics cards so setup took a bit more for me, if you have only 1 ignore this section. Only a few things you need to do. Go to your deepbit account and click "create new worker". For worker login tail set it to 1. Set the password to something you will remember. Leave payment proportional. Save settings. Now go to your guiminer. In your original CUDA tab with your username as [email protected]_0 go into the extra flags and put in "-gpu=0". Now go to file>new other worker and choose the rpcminer-cuda.exe as before. Name it CUDA2. In the CUDA2 tab have the following settings. Server: other Host: pit.deepbit.net Port: 8332 Username: [email protected]_1must have the _1 Password: The password you set when you made the new worker on deepbit. Extra flags: -gpu=1 So you end up with 2 tabs, a CUDA tab that has all the same settings except the email ends in _0 and the extra flags as -gpu=0 and a CUDA2 tab with the email ending in _1 and extra flags are -gpu=1. File>save settings in guiminer and click start mining on both tabs. A final piece of advice. This will use your GPU heavily, if you are gaming or anything else and notice that video is lagging go to the tray in the bottom right, find the GuiMiner icon and right click it and close it. Do not click stop mining in guiminer.exe. This always crashes my computer and will likely crash yours. Just close the program from the tray. Just the weirdest, most inexplicable sht I've ever dealt with in a rig. [PC, blackscreening, semi-random]
Hi all. I'm utterly, utterly baffled. Stumped. Bemused. Befuddled. Bamboozled. I cannot explain this. At all. I crash on my desktop, often (but not always) while opening Chrome. Crash can be 1m after boot, or 4 hours after boot. Machine blackscreens, stops responding, doesn't send anything to the monitor or respond to scroll lock or capslock. Fairly standard - but I do NOT crash if there's a game running. Literally can run GW2 for as long as I need to, or warframe, or Titanfall, and it's solid as a rock. I've arranged an RMA for my GPU as it's the most recent addition to the sytem (25 Feb 2014) and it was blackscreening on wake (but with a responsive PC/keyboard and the media server was still up), but I'm stumped. I've never seen anything like this. What causes a rig to blackscreen when browsing or opening explorer, but doesn't have ANY problems when it's running high end games at max rez? 2500k @ 4.5GHz R9 290 4GB Factory OC 700W Seasoninc PSU 1 SSD (OS + Games) 2 HDD (Stuff) Midrange Gigabyte mobo, nothign special 8GB DDR3 @ 1600MHz Win 8 64 Bit etc etc. EDIT: Memtest results are in. GW2 is running in the background and it's still not crashed... Ideas anyone? Am thinking about ordering a new CPU/Mobo and seeing if that fixes it - next on the list (after another crash) is going to be a W8 re-install. OS re-installed and BIOS updated, still crashes. Definitely hardware. Definitely not RAM, definitely not storage (SSD or HDD). Crashes still independent of load - but most common when clicking on something (Firefox, Chrome or Evernote for example). So the candicate list as far as I can work out is: CPU (moderately likely, though stressing with linpack or OCCT or prime does not cause crashes, and it's happy while playing GW2) mobo (happy while gaming, unhappy when asked to execute a crappy little prgraom like Chrome. Weird? gotta be unlikely) PSU - Feeling like this is a likely candidate. GPU - but doesn't crash when rendering ~100 players at max res in GW2. Soooooo.... can anyone think of a thing to test next? Final edit: running on the onboard GPU on mah telly. Flawless, no crashes at all. I think it's the GPU, the 2D processing chip or whatever must've been borked. Recap: new GPU, no crashes. All is now good!
Updated poclbm (OpenCL miner) backend to the latest version which has built-in fallback support and slightly improved performance using a modified phatk kernel. Big thanks to m0mchil and all who submitted code for this. This version should be a few percent faster on most graphics cards.
Update Phoenix backend to version 1.50.
Add many more pools to the server list, including separate servers for BTC Guild.
Default CPU affinity changed to be CPU 0 only instead of all CPUs.
Display of GHash shows more decimal places (requested by hawks5999).
When you save miner settings it remembers the GUI size and position for future runs (requested by goozman96).
Removed weird characters in console log of Phoenix miner.
Error handling: If settings file could not be read, recover gracefully instead of raising a JSON error.
Error handling: If no OpenCL devices exist, recover gracefully instead of raising AssertionError.
Need help mining, nothing seems to get these miners to run.
I used to mine bitcoins, and then litecoins and gave up on those quite a while back. Saw dogecoin, thought it was hilarious and tried to get going on that. But have been having one hell of a time. I have tried these 3 miners.
CGMiner (not an ATI card user so that's not gonna work anyways)
I've been told that CUDAMiner is the way to go, that or GUIMiner. CUDAMiner I setup the config
It launches, detects my video card, uses scrypt, and gets going. As soon as it hits "Using launch configuration F0x0" it crashes. Online resources said try to add "--no-autotune" to the batch, but that causes it to crash upon opening. Suggestions? GUIMiner Downloaded GUIMiner Scrypt and setup my account and the host as "stratum+tcp://dogehouse.org" port 3333. When I retry and start I get the following error--
Tried using just "dogehouse.org" and recieve the error-
"HTTP request failed: Empty reply from server"
any other variation of that gets the same error. What host name am I supposed to use? Any suggestions? I've been trying for hours and have been unable to get this to function. I'm on the verge of just giving up. Thanks Sorry I did not include my GPU: GTX 560TI EVGA Factory OC'd 2GB RAM model
Consistently getting the "Problem communicating with bitcoin RPC" error. Any suggestions?
I've tried a few different clients, but I always get the same sort of error. I know someone posted a day ago that had the same problem, but his solution didn't work for me. I've looked around the net for awhile for a solution, but nothing seems to fix it. For simplicity's sake, I'll just describe my GUIMiner setup: Server: Other Website: n/a Host: mtred.com Port: 8337 Username: [username registered on mtred.com] Password: [password for registered username on mtred.com] Device: [0-0] ATI RV770 (it's an ATI 4870) Extra flags:(nothing) I've added the computer running the miner to my router's DMZ (running dd-wrt) so port access shouldn't be a problem. Anyone have any suggestions? EDIT: Also, my firewall is disabled. Added "bitcoin.exe.", "guiminer.exe", and "poclbm.exe" to my Microsoft Security Essentials list of excluded processes. Still no dice :( EDIT 2: Rawlsdeep solved my problem. I needed to create a worker on mtred.com and use my worker's credentials as my username and password for my mining program. Hopefully this will help someone else later on!
Need help setting up a CUDA miner for Litecoins, completely new at this
After reading the "Getting Started" links on the sidebar, I've managed to download the Litecoin Wallet Client, and get myself a wallet address. Did a bit of research, found myself a pool (http://give-me-ltc.com/), did a bit more research found myself a miner (CudaMiner https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167229.0). Problem is, I have no idea how to setup this miner! I've been using GUIminer for my Bitcoin mining so have no idea how to configure it to which pool I'm using, which graphics cards to use, and setting up stratum (whatever that is). Usually I'm greeted with atleast a .bat file to edit, but theres isnt one within this folder: http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/4632/cudaminerscreenshot.png Running the .exe just sends an cmd line error and attempts to retry every 15seconds. How do I configure this bloody thing!

Hi all. I'm trying to break into mining, using (trying to use) GUIMiner with Slush's pool. When I try to run it with slush's server info preloaded, the terminal reads

(with the worker info stripped) and doesn't budge from there. I never get a hash rate, just eternal "Connecting...". When I run the server as "Other" and manually insert Slush's address, I get

and that's where it stays. Running on CPU off of Windows 7. Any help would be appreciated.
New miner here. Need some help with RPCMiner and CUDA.
So here goes... I went and set up a new PC because I happened to win a GTX Titan in a lucky draw back in February. There were some issues with the motherboard that I bought and the rig was out of action for about a month. Now that everything is up and running I decided to do a spot of bitcoin mining to test out the system and to make sure everything runs fine. I downloaded GUIMiner and fiddled around with it a bit, then I downloaded RPCMiner as well as Ufasoft. Ufasoft's CPU and GPU mining programs work fine but they don't do CUDA. Thus, I tried to get the CUDA RPCMiner to work but I ran into some problems: C:\guiminer\miners\RPCMiner>rpcminer-cuda.exe -url=http://api2.bitcoin.cz:8332 -user=herp -password=derp -threads=1 -aggression=12 -gpu=0 Client will start 1 miner threads Work will be refreshed every 4000 ms 1 CUDA GPU devices found Setting CUDA device to device 0 Loading module bitcoinminercuda_11.cubin Unable to load CUDA module I've tried googling, it seems that people have this problem but nobody has posted any solutions. Can anyone here help? Much thanks in advance.
GUIminer returning "Verification failed, check hardware" on HD 6870. BitMinters Client is working though.
I want to use GUIminer and more specifiaclly I want to use the poclbm kernel because it allows me to set the -f 60 flag, which allows me to play games (league of legends) while mining. However GUIminer returns:

I googled for a solution which said I should downgrade to CCC version 11.11, however this is not ideal since it would negatively affect my gaming experience. I also heard that BitMinter had a very easy to use client, so I decided to give that a shot. This client is indeed easy, as it immediatly worked! My work got accepted for the most part (5 stale out of 300+ proofs of work), however this is not the pool I want to mine in and the client does not allow me to set any parameters. Anyone know a solution, obviously there are miners that could work with my card (BitMinter), but I did not find them yet. I tried GUIminer, Phoenix and CGminer. PS: Please don't comment on whether mining is viable for me. I want to participate in Bitcoin mining with my gaming PC, my question is not about viability.
posted this on bitcoin forums but nobody responded... I'll try my friendly reddit counterparts! Specs: OS: Win7 64 Ult CPU: AMD 940 quad 3.0GHz RAM: 4GB DDR2 Vid: Sapphire 5830 Extreme 1GB OC: MSI Afterburner 970 core/ 500 mem Miner: GUIMiner 2011-07-01 using built in OpenCL with these flags: -v -w128 -f60 temps: easily under 70C with fan at least around 70-80% manually did the 3% Ma-function patch to the appropriate kernels. With this setup I get 285/295 Mhash/s which I don't think is too bad. However I can't seem to get phoenix to work. I tried at first just to setup a new miner and use the phoenix.exe that came with GUIminer, but all it does is say "Connecting..." and never gets connected. I tried replacing the phoenix related files with whatever is on github for 1.5 with the same results. Any pointers on how I can get phoenix working to see if I get better hash rates for my current setup? Thanks
